So for my first post, I decided to share this TED talk by Richard St. John. He reminds us that success is not a one-way street, but a constant journey. He uses the story of his business' rise and fall to illustrate a valuable lesson -- when we stop trying, we fail.

I have noticed that longer pages with more words are doing better in Google search rankings.

This is not a new observation and I do not claim to be the first to notice it.

And it is true word count by itself does not guarantee a high ranking. There are many factors involved. If you get high PageRank backlinks that seems to still be more powerful than words.

That is: a 50 word page supported by multiple PageRank 5 backlinks, will outrank a 500 word page....
