I have to be straight, as a mom, seeing these fearless kids climb this tree scares the living daylights out of me! Mostly because, if it were MY child and they got to the top and fear set in, I'd be terrified at the thought of having to go up to get them!

So, why don't we climb the tallest tree anymore? We might get hurt. It's way too high. Grown ups don't do those things. You have to get home to let the dog out. Ahhh...gotcha. Why is it that we give up so easily on things that might be meaningful, or even fun, for such small excuses?

Are you who you always wanted to be when you grew up? Do you even remember what that was? Have you lost that vision? When you were a kid, there was nothing holding you back from being who you wanted to be...an astronaut, a movie star, a world traveler. Somewhere along the way, we stop taking chances. We think maybe if we chased our dream, we might be setting ourselves up for failure. Who wants to fail? Especially in important aspects of our life. No one. The realization is that taking chances...taking risks...is how you find amazing opportunities.

The kids in this picture are taking a big risk. They could fall; but, they don't see that. They see an opportunity, on a beautiful day, to have great fun with their friends. Fear is nowhere in sight. They'll continue to climb and they'll jump over and over...and they may even come back tomorrow and do it all over again.

Take chances and end the excuses. The things you want to do are not impossible. You can lose weight. You can get out of debt. You can build your own business and fire your boss! You just need a vision. So, don't be afraid of failing. Be mindful of succeeding.

I found the following quote, last week, in a blog that I follow; and, it caught my eye. This man is a HUGE risk taker that sets impossible goals and then catches up to them. Love this quote:

I think entrepreneurship is our natural state -- a big adult word that probably boils down to something much more obvious like playfulness. --Richard Branson

Have a great day!
