Finding more ways to get the word out about my niche

Posted 15th March 2010 at 09:20 AM by webwriter (Newbie's IM journey)

Lately, I've been boosting my niche by posting in places like Squidoo and Twitter. That strategy seems to be working a little, as my Squidoo lenses have slowly been getting some views. Last count was 6 views.

Maybe I'm getting somewhere. I've got to make sure my landing page is complete.

My next thing will be getting an account with Hub pages and starting related hubs there. And of course, writing related ezine articles.

Don't bother trying to reinvent the wheel

Posted 13th March 2010 at 03:46 PM by webwriter (Newbie's IM journey)

In recent months, I've collected great information on ways to succeed in IM marketing and found that all of that information has one thing in common: there is work, usually a lot of work to be done, before success is finally achieved.

Posted 12th March 2010 at 09:17 AM by webwriter (Newbie's IM journey)

In editing my landing page rough drafts, I have found that it's all taking a longer time than I anticipated. Taking all of that time doesn't really concern me, but the results do.

When I reviewed my headline, for example, I learned that I didn't really emphasize a benefit. My headline began with a question, though in my opinion, not a very strong one. What I should have included from the start was a more compelling benefit.

Hmmm. Saving time is one possibility, but maybe...

Landing page and/or squeeze page?

Posted 11th March 2010 at 02:59 PM by webwriter (Newbie's IM journey)

I've considered changing my landing page's content to a squeeze page instead. But now, I may not have to do that. I could probably create both and improve my results instead.

For help in improving my landing page's copy, I turned to a few books on that topic. I was looking for specific information and thought I found it in Jay Conrad Levinson's book, Guerrilla Marketing on the Internet (Entrepreneur Press, 2008). Although the author included a lot of familiar stuff, he suggests that...
