How to make sales copy visually appealing?

Hi everyone,

I am trying to make my website as attractive as possible and not have to make my potential customers get bored reading too much copy.

I have a cool graphic at the top of my sales page that looks a bit like an info graphic quickly highlighting whats on offer. But isn't enough to build authority and show them some important info.

Ultimately I need a minute or two of my traffic's time to really pitch to them. But i'm worried I will turn them off if they are confronted by a boring block of text?

Should I jazz it up? And therefore risk losing the power of what I am actually saying and make the site look a little too "busy".

Or keep it plain, give them 4-5 short paragraphs and then get back on to the pictures etc.

Was wondering if you have an views based on results/experience?

Thanks

Easy to read copy is presented with very short paragraphs and a series of subheads. On an online sales page it helps to have a few images without text on both sides of your page so that the reader's eyes are drawn back and forth across the page.

These days 16 or even 18 point font is the new 12 and line spacing is at least 1.5 times your pixel height. Narrow width of the body copy, usually no more than 800 pixels across.

All those things help keep your visitor focused on your page.

You need to capture the interest of your visitor immediately.

You do this by presenting them a 'hook' that catches their interest and motivates them to learn more about your offer.

Jazz it up so it is clear what they can achieve with your help and always state a benefit before explaining how your offer delivers that benefit.

It is hard to give specific advice without knowing what you want to sell and in which niche.

If you want to build authority look at the KLT formula from Kevin Rogers - he gives it away for free and I think it is awesome.

    Take care
