Some tips for your content marketing strategy

The Brand Marketer hears this all the time, especially with one man bands, they don't have time for content! Or they simply do not know how to write the content for their own products/services, and for their industry.
Know this, your target audience are in control! Whilst "the customer is always right" has been the mantra in the marketing industry forever, the customer now also has the power to make or break your brand based on Social Media, your content, or rather, in this case, the lack off!
Whilst we understand that you either do not have the time or do not know how to generate content or both, it is simpler than you think. Think of your content as you're explaining your product/service and industry to someone who is looking for your product/service within your industry.
You don't go about making a sales pitch to every person you come across who might be interested in your product/service, but rather you explain to them how your business can help provide the best solution. Combine that with industry news, write about changes in your industry, share your views through videos and podcasts for the shift happening in your industry... there is no limit to the amount of content you can generate.
Here are some interesting tips that can help you with your content strategy

1. Find Guest Bloggers
Connect with the best industry experts and invite them to write and/or provide content in other forms i.e. blogs, articles, PR pieces, interviews, videos, podcasts, downloads etc. Use them on your website and social media channels.

2. Existing Team
If you happen to have a few contractors working for you, have them produce content. Even if it is basic things, for example, we do a lot of split testing here at The Brand Marketer for our clients, and whilst split testing can be expensive and complicated, we end up documenting every step we take and sometimes come across the most bizarre errors such as Thrive Leads takes 4 seconds longer to load compared to Optimize Press. Is this worth a sound bite? YES! And we would follow this up with how to thrive leads quicker as well...
3. Freelancers
You can also try ordering content online through websites like Freelancer.com and get your content requirement fulfill. There are some amazing and rather cheap freelancers out there that can really help you get the content you need for your content marketing strategy, you just need to find the right one!
4. Re-purpose and Reuse
Always always re-use your content ALWAYS! Share it on social media platforms. I am not saying go and post the same piece of content on your website every day to social media platforms but use it again in the future. Also, use your content for email marketing. You aren't selling people when you send them an article or another form of content again through email, you are simply sharing information which they may or may not have seen before on your website

    Hey Dave,

Welcome to The Copywriting Forum. Not sure what all that was but...

Who's your favourite copywriter? Mine? Oh, that would have to be Gary Halbert. I have all his stuff. Top of the line in my opinion. Legend.

Matter a fact I was talking to his son, Bond last week. Great guy, he's got a new book out too. The Halbert Copywriting Method Part 3.

I was telling him how great it is, what am I going to do he's a Halbert? Seriously it is amazing. You should pick it up, Dave.

Anyway, anytime you wanna talk copy feel free to pop by, Dave.

    Take care,

    Bill
