My first post here and I need feedback!

Hi, I'm Ian....

First of all this is the first post I've ever done here, and I'm REALLY nervous/scared about it, no idea why.... I haven't been able to figure out why I'm so nervous, and frankly, I find the idea of not succeeding way at IM way more scary than this forum, so I'll just take the plunge.

I tried my first sales page which I guess I can't link to yet, this being my first post. I have no idea if I've done this right, if I've chosen the right product, the right method, or if there's any value to this, but i'm testing it out and would love every bit of feedback I can get!!! It's my first try at a sales page.

How can I get feedback on my sales page?

Where do I go from here?

Am I too negative/too positive at any point?

Is this even the right approach?

Do I know what I'm doing? (I suspect I don't if I have to ask)

Thanks for your feedback!

    Hi Ian,

Welcome to the forum...relax and stay around a while.

So you got a product to sell, right?

The first step is to see if there is a market for it. You do this by checking out if there is something being sold which is similar to what you have got.

You want yours to be clearly better in some way, not just the same. Reason being is that competition can, and do it often, come up with improvements to what is allready being sold.

From the competitor check, you have 3 choices...
    1 Abandon the project
2 Work on the end product to improve it
3 Come up with the reasons why yours is better backed up with various forms of proof.

So as you can see, there is work to do before you write your first word to advertise it.

Ian, come back to us and let us know where you think your product is on that list and give us some reasons why you think it may be where it's at.

Also, fire away any questions...we won't bite [well not me anyway!]

    Speak soon,
    Ewen

    Hey...
Welcome. First, project confidence. Even if you have little. Fake it. Eventually, as you start the learning process it will become real. Then, read all the rules procedures here. If you had, you'd know that you can create a signature file (sig file for short) right off the bat. Create one and put your link in it. Then ask for comments.

The tricky part is, some will be good and many will be totally useless. I've been seeing a lot of that lately... the blind leading the blind. It's certainly not a steadfast fact but folks with some accumulated posts might know a little more than newer posters.

Again, that varies. The bottom line is, if you can somehow identify folks who are actually earning money as copywriters they just might know what they're talking about and have something useful to offer.

Me, I haven't got a freakin' clue about anything.

    Good luck.

Hi Ian, I am new here as well. i have been writing articles for a while, and have just started trying to move into writing sales pages myself. it is a totally different ball game, and ther is so much to learn.

The best thing to do here is just start doing it. you can always change things as needed, but if you don't take the first step, you won't get anywhere.

Thanks to everyone here for the great tips. there is so much here it will take a while to absorb it all.

Ian, relax buddy. You're in good hands. This forum has probably the most supportive group of people anywhere. There is no question as a stupid question so just ask!
