I have come back on Warrior Forum today to find more help and information on a sales page I am using. Right now it's converting around 1.5%-2% which really isn't bad for a $70 product... But I want to get it up higher.

I want to find direction on how to bring my homepage's sales page from a 1.5%-2% conversion rate up to a 4% or 5% conversion rate.

How to Sell Beats Online | Beat Selling Tips

Let me know. We're also going to be adding an upsell soon, and integrating the other products we have for sale

Thanks

  • Kyle,

I expect you're going to hear the following response, in several different ways.

"Our time isn't for free - hire a copywriter."

I don't know whether you were simply asking for help, or interesting in finding someone to hire, but the former won't come for free. You won't find someone who will just write for you for nothing.

That being said, what IS your product?

I have some Dr. Dre Beats, dont' know whether you're selling that product, or something else? I'd be interested to hear what you're selling, and point you in the right direction.

Give me some more details (haven't got time to read that beast of a letter right now! Apologies!) and I might be able to help.

    Best regards,

    Ben.

Google defines "Bridge pages" as pages created with then intent to SEND searchers to another page. There must be some ACTION for the user to take on the page in order for it to oblige to Google's rules. Simply use a squeeze page with a premium to get the users email address and redirect them to the desired page. be sure that it is related to what the user is searching for or else you will waste your Click.

Thanks guys for the tips and notices. I am selling an eBook teaching music producers how to sell their beats online. It's information-based marketing, selling eBooks and Video courses.

Conversions are at 2% for a $70 product, and I expect to be completely redesigning the whole sales page if I can get more critique.

TIP: don't shoot a video in your kitchen. Comes across as hokey. And keep the camera still for chrissakes. That whole "I need you to watch this right now...sharing this apartment...its not my camera...I haven't been home a lot lately...we're taking it off the market after nine days" is a crock. Who cares? Amateur-hour.

In fact that whole page looks amateurish.

Here's a couple more - that's the price on the banner on the right? Readers MUST discover the value of the product before the price

    Different size fonts

    Don't use the word 'testimonial'

Unless your market uses the word F*@# all day every day, and you are 1,000% sure of it, it's a massive risk to use it at all.

    No salutation, no opening paragraph

Change these things, test the results and let us know how you go

These are all good tips. So instead of the price what should I have in the sidebar? An opt-in or something? My plan is to completely recreate the entire sales page from scratch this upcoming week, including the video and everything.

People keep saying to me there's no "Flow". Could somebody please break down how a 4% sales page would be written for flow? I guess I don't understand the "Flow" concept.

I want to write it as a "problem solving" kind of thing, but how would I do that from start to finish without putting my conversion rate down instead of up?

OK I just took out the price in the sidebar. That's a big change right there. Then changing the headline with the "F" word in it like Brian has suggested. Also going to try to find a camera to rerecord the video today. Hopefully I can find that camera. But yeah that video definitely needs to be remade I think that's true. Maybe I should go outside so there's no kitchen in the background?

I made changes based on what everybody told me to do here in this forum so far. Need more tips... Help me get to that 4% conversion rate whoo!!!

My current page had a 2% conversion rate, maybe a bit less than that, and I just made a bunch of big changes to it:

    http://www.sellbeatsnow.com

    I changed following things:

    1. Basically the entire first half of the page, I rewrote all the copy for
    2. I made a new video and put it up instead of the old one
    3. I changed font sizes on a lot of the stuff I had
    4. I took out price in the sidebar, leaving it only at the bottom

These are par to the changes you guys said I should make. I hope this works! Please keep the comments coming for the updated page! If you KNOW it'll convert higher with a change, please tell me what that change is!

    Right...

Don't tell people they can build a website, "just like this one" when it's not attractive or properly set up for conversions.

Since you're using Wordpress and NOT doing the coding on your own, be transparent.

But use a theme that looks good.

    Like maybe OptimizePress.

I'd get rid of the menu buttons at the top.

And if your going to tackle mindset, you need to tap into the emotions that YOUR audience is feeling RIGHT NOW - if you've got any chance to help bridge the gap in their thinking (e.g. your mindset determines your results.)

    My point?

Most people don't have a clue what mindset even is.

    And you don't explain it.

    Anyway...

    I agree with Mr. Nazi.

    Your site is amateur hour.

And that's coming from a website amateur.

If you create a proper brand, convey it in your header and throughout your copy, it'll help.

    But ultimately...

    Your copy isn't organized.

    It's chaotic.

And it won't resonate with your niche (which I assume are people trying to sell their own beats)...

first of all, the popup is to long. the name - email opt-in should be above 'the fold', meaning they shouldn't have to scroll down to put their name and email in. if given the opportunity, they will hit the X vs. the 'submit' button.

'our productions' in sidebar should also be an opt - in. you can put your productions wrapped in below the video. why? because when i close the X, there is no way to opt in.

your sales page / squeeze page should be just that. not another page on your blog. your sales / squeeze page shouldn't have anything leading away from it other than the action you want them to complete.

goal of a squeeze - collecting emails.
goal of a sales - sell the product. only option on that page for them to click should be the 'buy now' or 'X' button.

build a sales funnel starting on another domain.

it should go squeeze - sales - follow up with autoresponders for X amount of months, including: discounts, success stories, customer testimonials, contests, and always include a link to buy the product.

create an 'online launch' with a 4 - 6 video series on how to make money doing it, and the last video will be your sales video. entitle it a 'free e-course for selling beats online' then market it through facebook, redirecting people automatically to your squeeze page.

As I said though @Reflection my conversions are at about 2% for this $70 product, so it's working better than all that. But when you say it's chaotic, did you mean I should organize stuff into categories like copy, video, testimonials, product or something?

Sorry, I'm a noob in writing copy for sure. I have gotten a lot better though!

    My newest site is this:
    Rap Music Nation Home Page

So I can get good looking sites done. Even BeatsforLegends.com looks better than SellBeatsNow.

I never thought it'd hurt conversions that much just from what people were telling me about simplicity, BUT I'm certainly going to get the whole layout redone ASAP per your request.

Thanks for all the great help! I am taking everything into fact, working with it and trying to improve the sales page every comment.

I can take the critique, keep it comin'! haha i will listen and work on it

Cuz copy writing isnt my strong suite! And I want to learn

    Appreciate it all!

Our email conversions are at 11%, we've tried a lot of different things but basically thats the best pop over we'd have yet so we've gravitated towards it.

I will keep testing, and keep checking into this post!

    Thanks

I actually realized I gotta take it 1 step at a time so I can effectively watch conversions... Gonna slow down a bit. I made a ton of changes since this post I will keep making more. In the mean time keep the talk coming! I will be racking up tons of changes.

DEFINITELY investing in some high quality graphics and I'm going to recreate design. But I still need it to be SEO friendly. Can't wait!

Hire a professional website designer. You seriously need it. Love the concept and the idea, but the site looks extremely amateurish.

I didn't go through all the copy but if it's converting then I bet it would convert better with a more professional design. It looks cheap right now. Design and layout make a HUGE difference online. It speaks volumes in terms of the credibility of your company. I've tested it (on cold traffic) and seen dramatic changes on that alone.

Try a design like this: Live Support Software, Live Chat Support Software Online, Livechat Software, Live Customer Help Software - Zopim.com with a little more of a streamlined layout and see what happens.
