Graphic to help make writing more visceral

I came across this chart, thought it might help a few people out:

A few of the words a bit much for what we do (who says "detestable"?), but there's some good stuff here, too. Lots of good words for exacerbating the problem.

I also recommend Words That Sell, by Richard Bayan.

Thanks for the chart. That's great.

"Detestable" is an excellent word if you need to describe a negative practice of the competition.

On the whole, you get what you pay for.

I might argue Detestable isn't that excellent... especially when written.

Not a word you see in print a lot... takes too long to mentally process.

And in sales... unlike on our nation's roads... speed bumps kill.

P.S. It also sounds highfalutin. Despicable or shameful is better IMHO and slangy variations of either.

I agree. A lot of those words may work in other context but in
copywriting you want to be as unhighfalutin as possible. "Hard"
instead of "difficult", "get" instead of "receive" etc.
