How to send a REAL promotion code by email and avoid spam filters

Hi,

Our users can request discount codes if they fulfill certain criteria. After doing that we send them an email with their discount code.

It is very hard to avoid using the words like discount, promo code, etc that as far as I learned easily trigger spam filters. We are talking about a real and honest email with a discount code.

I could advice them to check their spam folder after requesting it, but it sounds bad.

What it the best way to go in this case? Any advices?

    Ask them to 'whitelist' the emails coming from you... explain the problem ... people are very understanding of issues like this - and if they want to get your discount & promo codes, they'll be happy to do what is necessary to do so.

    I often check my spam folder, as I know that people who's lists I'm on, and want to read occasionally end up there... so I'm often clicking the "not spam" button, hoping that Gmail will start remembering such choices.

    I'd create a 'whitelist' instruction page - and send everyone a link to it - something like this:

    White Listing

    That will help your list - and solve some of your problems.

    Great first post man!

    I would say that although the spam filters may pick up words such as those you listed, if you have a loyal following of subscribers that are genuinely interested in what you have to offer, then they shouldn't really mind checking their spam folder after requesting.

    Just my two cents, but I hope this helps! :-)
