How setup an Email Marketing Domain

Hi guys,

Can anyone please shine some light on how to best setup an email marketing domain or subdomain?

If you use an ESP to send email marketing campaigns for you and don't want to use your main domain in case it gets blacklisted (even if you don't SPAM and have an opted in list it can still happen ...).

Should you setup a new domain which only gets used for email marketing?

If so, can this domain be hosted on the same server with the same IP address or would this affect the main domain again which gets just used to send transactional emails out?

Also, would it be best to setup a domain with a static IP address for emailings or could this be hosted on a shared server?

You could take your domain and add mail to the end of it. domainmail.tld

You shouldn't have any problems with your IP, since the mail will be going out on ESP's IP.

If your really concerned about domain blacklisting, set up a cheap vps to host it. I have seen domains on the same hosted IP all get blacklisted, but it usually only happens if the hosting provider is on someones radar for hosting a lot of domains that continuously get blacklisted.
