GetResponse or Aweber?

aweber and getresponse are almost identical when it comes to useability, deliverabilty, pricing and almost everything important

BUT there are a few small things that got me to go from using aweber for years, to switching over to getresponse

- aweber does not allow single optin, unless you change this setting at the very first use of first campaign, if you dont change that option then and there, you can NEVER change it back and MUST use double optin, which with some campiagns you might not want to

- using certain tools (like a plugin i have to build a list with) Aweber can be very troubling, not cooparating due to strange API settings

so after years of experience my favorite pick is definately getresponse over aweber

also getresponse deliverability is slightly higher, but this is just a very little difference

I've used AWeber for several years, and love it. But just recently, they changed their format so I must learn some of it again. But it's working OK... My emails look great, with a drop & drag page editor.

I can't really say much about GetResponse, except I get a lot of emails from marketers using their system and I like the "unsubscribe" feature.

I don't know what all is available in GetResponse because I got frustrated and didn't stay there long enough to learn all they offered.

I tried it, but found it was difficult to create a list. They wanted me to do everything else first and then create the list. Or at least it looked that way.

I'm familiar with creating a list and then completing the steps (can't knock GetResponse - just my patience level)

There probably isn't much difference between them, and I know with AWeber, I get a very high delivery rate, even with AOL, Yahoo, Gmail, etc. accounts. AWeber brags about their delivery rate.

I also like their reporting systems and graphs. They might confuse you at first because of all the information provided. But hang in, you'll get accustomed to it.

I've also used autoresponders in a membership site and found it a bit restrictive, but an associate uses it exclusively and loves it. I just want all the "bells & whistles". I guess the feature I like the most is being able to create several lists, create a "broadcast email", and chose the list or lists I want to send it to simply by checking a box.

If $19 a month is too much for you right now (which is the starting monthly price after the initial $1 - 30 day trial period), I can show you a very good system for only $9 a month, with a few less "bells & whistles" but does a great job. I know the customer service with AWeber is good, because I've actually phoned them and they were very helpful - to put it in simple terms, we solved the problem. If you go with AWeber and have a problem, I might be able to help you if you have a problem.

Although "double opt-in" is recommended you can use "single opt-in" too, depending on what you're doing. Use "double" if your creating a list. Use "single" if someone makes a purchase and needs to register, for instance to a download page. They are probably already on one of your lists, so you don't need to confirm their desire to accept information from you. (Gotta watch the SPAM rules)

It's cost me a small fortune trying every new "shiny thing" and if I can help, you won't need to go there

At the beginning I started using Aweber and it was all cool and perfect.

But after a while I had to switch over to the Getresponse and that was because of the option they were offering.

They are pretty much the same thing. Went with a-weber back in the day for one reason (more tutorials on it)

They offer similar services so you could choose the lowest price autoresponder!

is absolutely NOT correct. Aweber allows single optin no matter how it's setup.

I haven't heard of GetResponse, but I heard that aWeber is pretty good.

I just switched from Getresponse to Aweber and I can say I noticed a big difference in deliverability while Getresponse has a bit more features and flexibility Aweber is by far better when it comes to actuallyt deliver my emails to the inboxes of my subscribers.

I know some people tell the opposite though but this is my personal experience.

Comparatively, get response has additional automation things that you can play around with if you are into that kinda stuff..

Whether Aweber or Get Response... it really doesn't matter when your starting out. both are low in cost. Just choose 1 and start collecting and sending emails.

Both GR and AW provide some kind of trial period.

Make an account in both, import your list to both and try it out. Compare open rates, bounces etc... and all other stats.

Then chose one to use.

I've been with Rocket Responder for 2 years now and love everything about it. Acually joined when it was only $10 a month for unlimited subscribers. Their support is awesome and they keep adding new features. Very easy to use and extremely good delivery rate. Life timer here.

I am a user of aweber and their service is great . They have enabled mandatory double opt-in for new accounts recently. But apart from that , they are fine.

I've always heard great things about GetResponse personally. I've yet to try it, but I will certainly be going with GetResponse in the coming weeks when I begin launching my sites.

I have been using Rocket responder for a little while now and it seems to be working fine, it could use a little better training information to show you how to do everything but 20 bucks a month compared to as high as 150 to 200 a month from the other guys once you get a lot of people on your list is great. I mean it is just a list and how hard is it to keep it and e-mail it so why pay more for the same thing.

classic question. Both aweber and getresponse are best. it really depends on your preferences. For some, including me Aweber is by far the best, however it you are on budget use getresponse as it is more affordable than aweber.

Yes, but not as strict as they used to be. They've lightened up quite a bit.

Aweber has banned my account for no reason, I recommend Getresponse. They are really customer-friendly and you get your first month free, whereas Aweber charges $1 for the first month.

Getresponse is my weapon of choice due to the superior API which can be used with co-reg campaigns for example.

Same services mate..you cant go wrong with either of them..Other things are the important not the service you are using

Yes, at first glance GetResponse looks good. I wanted to move all my campaigns to them because of their multi-language feature (I needed german texts instead of AWebers english ones). Also they offer a build-in survey.

So I rebuild a dozen or so campaigns with dozens of Autoresponders within GetResponse and build the surveys there (instead of the formerly used SurveyMonkey) and implemented the GetResponse Opt-In-Forms into my landing pages. It took days of work and some money.

And then - BANG - my customers who opted in to get a PDF with the first autoresponder mail complained about NOT getting this first mail. GetResponse service tells me, it has to do with my mail (it soft bounces because of blacklisting and I should change it a little bit). But at the same time the very same autoresponder mail gets delivered fine with AWeber. So it seems to be not a problem with my mail being blacklisted but with GetResponse being somehow blacklisted. This is what I could read here now (too late) in another post as well.

And when I send out the first broadcast/newsletter via GetResponse there is a 25 percent bounce rate, whereas the parallel AWeber-sendout gets only 4 percent bounce rate.

I should have tested more before putting so much work into the change.

If you have the impression that GetResponse is fine you may have had sheer luck or maybe you can´t compare it to another service and therefore think it is normal?

I see all the post of all my friends. Once upon I use AWeber but now a days I'm with Get response. Both of the tools are almost fine. There is Opt-in problem with AWeber On other hand Bounce rate problem with Get response. Deli verity as well as open rate of AWeber is better then Get response. Get response with 500+ eye caching quality template but AWeber have no such as. Any way, I think both the tools are overall same in respect of their quality. Good day.
