How To Get More Sales From Emails

IMAGINE every email you sent out was a real letter. Costing you the price of a stamp, envelope and paper. .

How much more time would you spend on the headline, body copy etc. ?

How attention grabbing would it be? How much more compelling.?

Imagine that next time you cut and paste some copy into Aweber...and watch your open and click through rates ramp up.

that is an awesome piece of advice. most of us probably overlook the fact that the emails show who we are and fail to take time designing and writing them hence ending up with mails that are only half baked.

I was taught to write emails as if you were talking directly to the person standing in front of you..don't try to announce to the masses, it won't come off as being genuine. Besides, it's no different than live performing in front of a camera... ( I realise alot of people have not done this, but) you need to appeal to the one in front of you before someone else will take notice...

      Hey Peter,
Thanks. But what it exactly are you trying to say ? Of course the headlines and body copy are important. And you need to be diligent as you would when you send a letter with a paid stamp ( which you clearly identify).

But expound a little and get more in the details of writing that good email. What constitutes a good headline ,good body copy ,etc..etc..

Not trying to be an instigator. Just wanting to see a little more

      • im saying that it's important to take the time to craft a good mail.
most people don't take that time.

        that's all for now.

Thanks pal. Having such like remainders from time to time help one maintain the right track. One thing I can say frankly is that we waste a lot of emails which when well used could turn into something great when it comes to marketing. One advice I can say is that we need to brand our emails in a such a way that it catches the attention of the recipient. You see the way you brand your cover letters when sending paper mails? that should also be embraced here.

as much as like the post I would say, the truth is email is not "letter", the fact is 92% of young shoppers prefer “mail” instead of “email” [33] that's the cold hard fact!

We yet don't know why, but that's what the research suggests!

Not to mention that emails without subject lines/headlines do way better, according to a research emails with no subject lines were opened 8% more than those with subject lines [32].

So again there is no need to even think about headlines! when you get 8% more open rate!

The truth is research over and over has proven that emails just won't get click through rate more than the usual response rate (according to research of Direct Marketing Association) for snail mail is 1.1 to 1.4% vs email 0.03%, remember that snail mail costs $600 per 1000 pieces while email costs almost nothing! [37]

I think you are giving high hopes, tho research suggests totally opposite! But that doesn't mean your suggestions are of no value! at least that would help Direct Marketers think deeply about what they daily do in terms of email marketing (hopefully!)

If you want to dig more about Direct Marketing, like the facts mentioned above, just google "Direct Marketing 25 Shocking Facts & Profound Insights!" and hopefully you will gain better insight after reading that well researched article on the subject!

btw I checked your blog and couldn't comment there on the post "Sales Letters Versus VSL's- Who Wins?" great post mate, brief, precise and absolutely actionable!

Though I would add, when it comes to showing how you are different from the rest, you should work on your USP aka unique selling proposition, having a great USP means having great position when it comes "What makes your offer different from the rest".

Bookmarked your weblog, definitely going to check more! Thanks man!

I did see it that way. It is similar to the old type writers in some way. But the thing is, technology changes, and that change changes the use of that technology. At the end of the day, this is what meant to be happened.
