My clickbank offers go directly to the spam !

Hello warriors,

I'm trying to promote some clickbank offers via email marketing, I use aweber to do this. When I insert my affliliate links into my emails, the spam score incease heavily (In my educational emails it's 0 but when I try to insert a clickbank offer in a promotional email, it goes to 10). In my aweber account I found that all my clickbank offers emails have a low open rate, which means that they go directly to the spam. What do you advise me, warriors, to do in order to avoid this problem with my affiliate links?

Please Help, this problem is killing my business!

Promoting ClickBank links in an email will trigger spam flag automatically indeed. There's been too much of abuse in regards to CB products and spam. You should use a link Tracker/Cloaker in any affiliate promotion anyway, but also to keep full control of your links, do not just count on aweber's link tracker.

Talking of aweber, its inbox reach has dramatically decreased over the last two years, no wonder for a start that the open rate is getting increasingly low. But that is not the only open rate factor. Far from the that. The biggest low open rate factor is due to the way you handle your list, mainly the subject line used but pretty much the approach you have with your list.

Many believe that email marketing consists only in sending "offers" to a list of email addresses. Email marketing is MUCH MORE than that. It is as art, a science and being successful in the matter depends much more than just pushing a send button to a bunch of email addresses.

    Factors to consider:
    HOW was the list acquired?
    HOW targeted is it, really?
WHAT kind of offer are you sending?
WHAT kind of offer have you sent previously?
HOW often are you sending and how relevant to the target EACH time?
ARE you sending ONLY offers to that list?
    ARE you NURTURING that list?
DO you see your list as a bunch of email address, OR as a group of HUMAN beings?

I could go on, and on... Basically answering the above questions and seriously looking and searching for answers from there, should give you a good grasp at where the problem might sit.

    Best regards,

  • Hi Madmeh.. this happened with me too.. I have a fashion outlet and when I added a couple of affiliates ie smaller clothing brands, my emails were going nowhere and it didnt feel nice to be portrayed as a spammer.. lol. Its important to check if your email marketing software allows affiliate marketing and related stuff. Switching over to Ariticmail, this was resolved. I can now help genuine affiliates move forward with me in the business.

Did you try with a landing page (maybe with a more detailed review + some bonuses - this could also help you to have better conversions)?

    If it's broken, CHANGE things.

    # 1 - Change the URL of links you promote.

    # 2 - Change your FROM email address.

    # 3 - Change your BODY copy.

    # 4 - Change your SUBJECT copy.

    # 5 - Change your FROM name.

    # 6 - Change your IP address. (Of your email server, obviously).

Split test until you break through.

Yeah, these are some of the best reasons to get right into the spambox, moreover to be expressly flagged as spam.

      "Change your FROM email address."
      "Change your FROM name"
When I do not recognize a FROM name it goes right to the delete box. Might easily be flagged as SPAM as well.

      "Change your IP address"
WORSE, the very best way to reach the inbox is to send from a single, secured and dedicated IP address, cleaned from all RBLs

Also, use DKIM AND SPF and get a verified sender's domain name and a verified sender's domain name tracker.

NOTE: The above advice are for those who want to practice LEGITIMATE email marketing only. Using trick and counter measures to reach inboxes is putting one at risk of producing the very contrary, or even worse getting into HOT water.

I should agree, but you seem to have not noticed that I did not mentioned nor covered this part.

Before trying anything too complicated, change the link by cloaking it.

I've discovered that bitly increases spam score dramatically, but using pretty link or any other redirect plugin with your own custom domain works well.

Report back and let us know how you get on.

    1. How did you build your email list?

    2. Inserting a clickbank affiliate link will set off the spam flags inside of Aweber

    3. Use your own domain tracking links, like Pretty Link Lite if you are using Wordpress or ClickMagick.com

    Hope that helps,

    You can do two things:

    1. Buy and forward a domain name to Clickbank. For example, you can buy www.AlternativeCBProductName.com and use your affiliate link as where you want the domain name to be forwarded. This is also helpful if the original domain name of the product is something like www.CBproduct.com/index/offerVSL2/ or something like that, which is not really pretty.

    2. Link first to a review page, and from the review page to the actual Clickbank product.

Also, have you talked to Aweber about this issue? A lot of WF'ers are using their services to promote Clickbank successfully, so I doubt they wouldn't know how to help you.

Linking to a CB vendor page is a fail all by itself no matter where you drop the link.

Build content around the products and offer them on a website. You can then link to your website quite easily without being classed as spam and will be able to provide additional benefit to the potential buyers

I had one of my emails with a high spam score on aweber. All I did was switch my affiliate link with a tracking link and it solved the problem.
