Why i ask this question is that more and more people are using smart phone now, people are conneted with other people using phone apps, like facebook app, web chat app, instgram app and so on.

Will people still check their email from time to time?

I'd be lost without email and it's here to stay, for a long while yet. I'd have a really good search on WF and track down some of the content that is written here about eMarketing there are some serious pearls of wisdom on here that are worth checking out. While social media and SMS marketing may be popular, by far the most effective in my opinion is email marketing.

Email is currently one of the easiest, cheapest and most effective ways to reach your prospects and your existing clients, and it also has a ridiculously high ROI. If you’re NOT email marketing you’re missing out on a golden opportunity.

While social media is becoming increasingly popular and is incredibly effective, it will not replace email marketing as a form of communication. Not any time soon anyway. And in fact, the two mediums can work very nicely together when the correct strategy is adopted.

The difference is of course, is that email marketing takes time and attention to detail to get it right so you don’t lose an opportunity to engage with your audience and (hopefully) generate sales in the process.
There’s a lot of trial and error involved in email marketing and the only way to achieve optimum success is by testing; lots and lots of testing.

That being said, email marketing is only as effective as your content.

I don’t need to go over the tips for a successful email campaign as they’ve been mentioned time and time again in this forum (perfect headline/opening line shock statements/CTA etc) however if you have the capacity to offer high quality, informative and engaging content then email SHOULD still be a big part of your marketing.

If you’re worried about presentation, most bulk mail programs such as MailChimp cater for the rise in mobile viewers and have a preview option for mobile emails as well as desktop so you can make sure it’s mobile-friendly before it goes out.

    Good luck with your campaign!

I think so, too. As long as there is a need for emails, email marketing will still be the best marketing solution for businesses. There are a lot of messaging systems available now through the smartphones, but emails are still the most reliable communication and messaging system.

A good question indeed.I think its credible if its done in a right way. If you're promoting your business then I would suggest to put up some extra marketing material in other avenues as well. For example build up a nice website which portrays your company's theme effectively or post image based marketing stuff on Facebook or instagram from time to time.

To make email marketing more appealing you can incorporate GIFs to add an extra spice. It's a hybrid between an image and a video where moving animations draws attention of clients towards your ad.Try using that and see the results yourself.

    Cheers-James

Definitely. Just think about it this way. There are some people who still do not have social media accounts, but they have email addresses. Professionals don't communicate with each other through social media platforms -- they use email.

Because of smartphones, emails have become more handy. People can check their emails more often now. In fact, people look at their smartphones an average of 150 times a day.

You just need to stay updated with the new trends and standards in email marketing and create responsive emails.

A great way to test is to ask yourself "are you still checking your email?" The fact of the matter is, email is the frontier that these big companies can never reach and gain control of. While Facebook, YouTube, Snapchat, Twitter, WhatsApp, Viber, and all the trendy places and apps where people spend most of their time in are controlled by their companies, email is decentralized and leaves the power to the people.

Email marketing is effective as second tier on your sales funnel. First, they have to show interest in your general offering by committing to your email list, then you sell them on your product or service. Think of sale as a 3 step program generally. You first build rapport, make an offering then ask for the sale. Email is where you make the offering while the referencing URL is where you make the sale.

Email marketing is alive and well

It used to be you had to go to your desk and log into your email account from your desktop, but now with the far-reaching use of tablets, smartphones, and other mobile devices, checking your emails means little more than tapping an app button to open your inbox.

Researchers suggests that the average open rate of emails on mobile devices is close to 50%.

So does it still work you ask?

    A Resounding YES.

Email is a very effective form of direct marketing for sending timely, relevant messages to your target. The trick to developing a successful email program is to understand your customers' needs and then send relevant messages that they actually look forward to receiving. So many companies send the identical message to their entire list assuming that all customers are the same. When this happens, customers receive irrelevant messages and the email is perceived as spam.

So, the short answer to your question. Email is a very effective means of connecting with your target audience. Just be sure to segment your list so your customers receive relevant, timely messages. When you do this, they'll look forward to hearing from you. Hope this helps!

This is why subject lines and headers are very important! It needs to be catchy for users to actually open the email.

Because you don't own your pages on any social media platform, email marketing is a great way to connect with your customers outside of social media. You own the list!

Facebook could suspend a page without notice & you lose communication with all your followers. Email is a great way to make sure you can keep in touch.

Yes, it's effective! I subscribe to many email subscriptions. The problem is that I get so many emails now, that I often delete the subscriptions that are no longer relevant to me. But that's actually a good thing, because it makes the newer emails more targeted. So yeah, I have a feeling email marketing will be around for a long time!

Many marketers have been enticed by social media advertising, perceiving it to be not only cooler, but also more effective than email marketing. There’s no doubting that social media gets a lot more media attention than email marketing. However, claims that email marketing is no longer effective are simply not true, and any marketer worth their salt will tell you that email remains a foundation of their campaigns.
