Email Capture Plugin For WordPress

Hi! I am planning to build my list and I'm so noob with this type of things. I am not sure where to start. I get the idea of capturing first the email address of my users, but not sure what plugin to use. I've been searching for nearly 5-hours now, but all I'm getting are paid ones like Aweber, Get Response and the like.

I'm just a newbie and starting out with list building, how am I supposed to afford that monthly subscription free? I'm broke and unemployed.

My plan for now is just to build the list - no sending off of emails yet.

The idea is to bribe my users with FREE PDF version of my posts, to capture their emails. BUT, I must also verify their email that it's real, not fake or a disposable one.

Would anyone advice for known plugin that works with this type of situation? I've actually tried a couple plugins, but they didn't work. At least with the latest version of WP (4.7).

What I need users to do is to enter their email address in a form, be it pop-up or sidebar. Then autoresponders will respond back and will send the user a link to confirm his/her email address. Once done, autoresponder will send out the download link.

I hope you guys could give advice, it's alright if it's a paid app, just let me know the price. If there's a diy alternative, then that'd be great!

TIA!

You can use Profit Builder and integrate with mailerlite.

It's a little bit hard, but work because we have tried on our site. Mailerlite will capture customer data that they input to your form (email, phone, name....)

Right, I'd start with a 30 day trial to Aweber or something similar. There are plugins you can use for the squeeze page. The reason for a paid alternative is because why move the list once you start it. Also, free is normally worth about what you pay for it.

Gentlemen, thank you for all your responses.

I am looking for a free alternative now, might use a paid option later. I have the luxury of time now, and I think I can handle the most technical side. I can work on my own squeeze page and even optimize it for web/mobile.

For sure, will move to a commercial platform.

Spend $20 a month and build your list with an email service provider like Aweber of GetResponse. It's well worth the investment.
