Are you referring to scraping data from websites?

If so, you should probably stop now and generate your data in a way that will actually work without blowing up your esp accounts, getting excessive complaints, and so on.

Scraping data is illegal, and just bad news all around.

Data scraping easily gives the desired info. I know it's illegal, but why?

I would be less worried about the actual legalities of it, but rather you should focus on the delivery its going to give you.

Anti-Spam companies place these seed email addresses all over the Internet, waiting for people like you to scrape them up and start emailing them. These companies then use this information to blacklist your ips, domains, and completely eliminate your sending reputation.

If your new to email marketing, which it sounds like you are, you probably have not experienced these issues yet, but take it from experience from someone who has been in this game a long time, your wasting your time, money, and resources, and you will save yourself a ton of headache but not using this as a strategy for your email marketing campaigns.

Outside of those fair warnings, there is still the legality of doing it. You do open yourself to potential lawsuit and other stuff should you continue to do this, and scrape the wrong trap. There are plenty of lawyers in the USA who do this for a living, sueing email marketers who do not follow the rules or laws.

Anyway, I hope this helps to answer your question and you are able to do your email marketing in a way that is more streamlines towards best practises.

    Ekramul,

By scrapping emails and mailing to them you are breaking the can-spam rules.

The CAN-SPAM Act, a law that sets the rules for commercial email, establishes requirements for commercial messages, gives recipients the right to have you stop emailing them, and spells out tough penalties for violations. ... The law makes no exception for business-to-business email.

Each separate email in violation of the CAN-SPAM Act is subject to penalties of up to $40,654, so non-compliance can be costly.

Also, most autoresponder companies frown on this.
