Its slow, expensive and ineffective as compared to purchasing lists that are semi targeted to the niche you are looking to run your campaigns too.
I find using raw or semi targeted data to be far better, and then I can build dedicated lists from the openers, clickers, and convertors that I am able to generate from my email campaigns.

Interesting...Curious to know though. How do you purchase lists that are semi targeted to a niche and isn't that expensive as well?

15+ years in business as a bulk emailer and data broker, with deep deep connections to all kinds of data that most people would not have access too.

The key is seeing your e-mail list as follow up to your major marketing strategy.

Many people take many communications before they will sign up for an opportunity or buy something.

Reading the other replies, you are jumping ahead to just buying from other lists.

    What are you selling?
What value are you providing to people?
Are you building a profitable business?

I do understand and respect that a lot of people, especially on this forum say you need to build rapport and get people "ready to buy" with all kinds of information and pre sales and blah blah blah. I do agree, this is an effective strategy. What most people forget is that a good chunk of the population have very very very short attention spans, are not that smart, and are incredibly impulsive. This is why companies such as ASOTV are so successful. They are not getting the customer "ready to buy" over days and multiple pre sales, they are doing boiler room, in your face, limited amount of supply available, but in the next 10 minutes to get double the offer, etc. The same method work on email. Is it the most ethical way to hit up customers, maybe, maybe not, depending on what your values are, but there is no doubt, and after 15 years and millions and millions and millions of dollars in affiliate sales, these methods work today, as they did 15+ years ago, and how they will continue to work for years and years into the future. Inpulse buying is something people do for a variety of reasons, its never going to stop. The big thing is having good delivery, decently targeted data, and of course, clever and excellent copy to make sure you get their money.

I know tons of people on here are going to disagree with me, but I guess I am a bit more against the grain then most of the emailers on here. There are a few other guys here though I know personally who know what I am saying is legit.

This has obviously worked for you and I am quite interested to learn more.

I admit the modus operandi of building a list is becoming stale as people become smarter everyday hence the rate of providing the invalid emails just to get access to free stuff is on the rise.

Your approach seems more direct and aiming straight for the main goal which is growing a list of buyers... no beating around

First of all, I find getting double opt-ins as the most challenging aspect of list building. That's because most signups go unconfirmed. I hope people here would agree with me on this score. But efforts can be made to get them into your list later. Double opt-in list is the most valuable list.

Sometimes building that list is not the main issue , the issue comes a little later regarding open rates . The best way is to build the list yourself , it may take time and cost in the begiining but it pays off when your subscribers know you , and recognize your name in their inbox .
