Oprah is perhaps the greatest daytime tv host of all time.

She is savvy business women who knows exactly what she is doing. perfect example she is literally a billionaire, yet she still finds a way to "that girl from Milwaukee"

She built the most successful, day time talk show of its kind, and she did it by:
  1. She did it by being funny ( the countless jokes and like hearted moments)
  2. by being giving ( like the time she gave everyone in her audience a new car)
  3. by allowing us to know intimate details about her past ( When she shared how she was molested by members in her family to help others heal)

She built her audience by being talking to them each day, and allowing them and herself to be 'naked'

how many people can say that they have interviewed the President, Micheal Jackson, Micheal Jordan, Donald Trump and a wealth of other power players.

She is a trusted friend AND a trusted source.

She uses TV.

We Use Email.

same strategy, different medium.

be entertaining, be insightful, and be vulnerable.

    For the record, Oprah did NOT give everyone in her audience a car. Ford gave everyone in her audience a car as a publicity stunt. She just handed out the keys.

    The stunt backfired when people mistakenly credited Oprah with such generosity.

    And if you go back to the beginnings of her show, she built her initial audience by getting down in the muck with the likes of Springer and Povich. Only later did she "see the light" and decide to follow the guru path (real guru, not IM gooroo).

    To her credit, she has built an empire. I flew over the little piece of land she bought on Kauai - all 100 square miles of it (about 65,000 acres).

    Last thing, it sounds like you're planning to make this sub-forum into your own private article dump. Don't do it - this is a discussion forum, not someplace for you to post articles. You do have an option of posting them to your personal WF blog space and linking them in your sig.
