Re: Answer All Newbie Questions Challenge

Going to Clickbank and looking for a product that is doing well is a good way to find a product to promote. I however prefer to do it the other way around. Find a (large) group of people that have a problem/question, and then look for (or CREATE) a product that solves that problem or answers that question.

If you wanted to do it this way I would say to try to pursue a niche that you are interested in already so that when you go to do the initial research you won't bore yourself to death and you will have a good idea where to start.

Find forums online that are related to the niche you'd like to promote and find out what people are talking about, what their biggest problems are and more importantly what they're willing to spend money on ;) The cool thing about using forums is if there aren't any problems that stick out right away you can always ask questions to start a discussion and see what develops.

Once you find a widespread problem, or question, then go find a product that can fix that problem.

Of course there is a little more to it than just that, but I think the complete answer is a little beyond the scope of this reply lol. Search around online and you can find countless articles on choosing the right niche, and also had to choose products to promote to those niches.

Good luck!

Re: Answer All Newbie Questions Challenge

1. Do some research and draw up a shortlist of blogs / gurus you like. Aim for people who are just ahead of you in your journey but not too far ahead.

2. Write a short message (don't overwhelm as they are busy people) asking for your interview and tell them how you will promote it / use it.

3. Then draw up a list of 10-20 questions and set up a teleconference so that you can ask them.

4. Record that and get it transcribed. Promise to send the copy / audio to your guru for their use too.

5. Organise it all. Make it REALLY easy for the person concerned to help you!

OUTCOME: You will not only create a great ebook but have an audio upsell too! And create a new relationship with someone who can help you.

Hope that helps
Nicola

p.s. I love being interviewed if it's easy for me!

yes, I have bought products from those marketers I have in mind. One of the major reason they show up on my list is I really think their products r great and that's the reason why I wana interview them. :)

Love this thread! I just started a thread on apprenticeships, because I would really like some step by step help with one on one Q & A, but this is the next best thing!

I've purchased one WSO and tried putting it into action, but when all was said and done I was told by the author I picked a bad niche. (would have been nice to know before all the time and money i invested in that niche!). So after all that frustration I want to re focus my efforts. So thinking logically, I think I want to get into product creation. Please tell me if my logic makes sense....Instead of spending a ton of time trying to learn affiliate marketing, building lists, backlinking, traffic generation....why not learn product creation and let the thousands of affiliate marketers who already know how to do that, or have established lists, sell my product? Does that make sense.

Now the only problem with that is that I'm starting to see that most product creation is centered around MMO. Since I am hardly an expert on that subject, is it still effective to create products in other niches? I would think so since I see them all over clickbank.

Also does anyone have a Great WSO recommendation of product creation. Specifically I would like to learn how people are creating products, (possibly even if you are not an expert in that field), the best way to get it to affiliates, and any other tips for success.

Thanks!

Ok Some More Questions"

I am going to test out building a Niche site. I have researched a keyword that I believe is a good one. See attachment for SEO Competition. SEOT for the keyword Broad Match is 167 and Exact is 50. SEOC is 54K. PBR is 45%. Can someone confirm for me that this is indeed a good keyword. I should be able to compete?

Also PBR can someone tell me what to look for here? I understand what it is, but what percentages should we be looking for?

Lastly I am having trouble picking a domain. The Exact match is not available for .com, .net or .org. If I add something to domain is there a SEO advantage to doing it before or after the keyword? I know not to break the keyword up, but did't know if THEkeyword.com is better or worse then keywordSITE.com. Also how do hyphens rank? I've read on WF that using the letter x is a great way to still rank for the keyword. keywordX.com. While that may be true for a niche site, won't this turn off at least some traffic that see the url?

Thanks for the help!

Hey guys i have a few questions for amazon affiliates :D

I started my site yesterday and applied it to amazon associates, i added content and made it look good, anyway i got 70 unique visitors yesterday, and on amazon asociates i have 147 clicks (132 unique) none bought though unfortunately, i think.

But my question is I got accepted into associate's early this morning, so would they count earning while my application was pending?

Also is there any way to check where these clicks came from? about half of them weren't even from my website.

Thanks:)

I'm just a newbie but for 147 clicks after launching your site for a day seems incredible. You must be doing something right. Obviously not converting yet but with that kind of traffic I think it would only be a matter of time.

How were you able to get traffic to your site that quickly?

Yeah i was surprised too. :p

All i did was set up a google alert for my product and a couple of keywords. So they sent me an email whenever it was mentioned on the net. So i clicked the links and replied and linked to my site. Pretty simple but it works well, Just instant targeted traffic, I only replied to about 10 of them. and it got me a couple of backlinks & traffic and already also got all my pages indexed in a day.

Re: Answer All Newbie Questions Challenge

I think one of the larger challenges is not what product to sell, but gaining traffic to sell it to. There are many types of traffic out there; some free and some pretty pricey. The problem is that you can get really bogged down in the free traffic as it's quite time consuming and there never seems to be enough hours in the day even when you devote all your waking hours to your niche. The paid traffic you never know if it is going to work, and you can spend a fortune just finding out.

I run a forum, and am using google adsense, which I think is pretty awesome. If you have a site or many domain names, you can set those up with adsense as many people buy names they never use that they should be using to utilize it fully.

Just my two cents. Probably not even worth that for some who read this, lol.

Thanks for the information though. I did learn a few things reading this thread and bookmarked a few members sites to get back to.

btw, Merry Christmas everyone!! Hope you had a good one!

If I "screw up" picking a domain name that was way below 5,000 monthy global searches, can I still salvage the site by using a lot of long tail key words as back links to drive traffic? Or would you just scrap the domain I picked and select a better one with 5,000 or more global monthly searches?

Thanks,

You hear and read all the time "the money is in the list". So to me the best way to make money is do good market/niche/keyword research so that you have a good shot to begin with then build a list.

I know there are other step by step guides out there but regardless of all else you also need to build a list and many of the things you learn on the step by step list building course will help you in other areas too.

It would depend on the name of the domain and how much below 5000 it is and how much competition.

PM me some of those details and I'll give you my opinion.

First, you have to decide what make money opportunity you'd like to engage in (SEO,Design Services,Outsourcing,Blogging,Product Creation,etc..). Decide on ONLY 1, and then ask here again, maybe experts can help out.

This is EXACTLY what I found when I first tried to find step by step guides, they skipped some basics. So I thought, if I ever found out how to do all this basic stuff, I would help out others with it too.

IM is so competitive, I make most what I make in other niches, however, I like to help out other IMer newbies.

Most people sell WSO to build a list to continue to market to those people so you will still need to know how to create a website and do an autoresponder series, which is a lot of building a list and selling affiliate products.

However, when you create your own product, you have to deal with refund requests and customer service issues.

When you are an affiliate, you don't have to deal with those things.

Also, before you give up on the site and niche you have already worked on, I'd get more opinions on how to profit from it from others before giving up on all that work.

Re: Answer All Newbie Questions Challenge

I have these most "haunting" questions....

What is the common behavior of IM subscribers?

I currently have mailing list in several niches, all of them are non-IM and now I'm confident enough to build a list in IM niche. But I understand that many marketers in IM niche mailed their subs everyday (frequency) and one subscriber might sign up to like, 10 marketers at once and not to mention the marketers' swap partners and you can imagine what kind of attention span these subs have for them.

My questions :
1. with this common condition of IM subs, is it true that IM subs are generally less responsive than in other smaller non-IM niches?
2. is it true that the IM subs are generally has smaller email open rates as the time goes....just because they have received too much emails?
3. if you swap with other marketers, sure you can have more people signing up to your list. But how about their attention span and responsiveness? Will you "dilute" your list's attention span that way if you swap everyday?

"Good enough", although I would say it's "medium competition".
"very good" is if the search >1900 with all the rest of variables are same.
the next thing you'll have to do is searching the top-10 page, are they from big-named sites like Wikipedia, Youtube, about.com, or PR > 6....If no, then it's "okay".....hope this helps :)

There are a lot of free courses and free ebooks on here that can take you step by step to get started in building a real business that you can later scale up and diversify yet can start small so look for those.

Also, there are mentors on here so search for them as well.

Re: Answer All Newbie Questions Challenge

Ok, there's something I've been confused about for at least a year now, so I thought I'd ask:
You see experts say over and over that a good keyword needs to have at least 1000 local searches on Google (BTW, some say Global Searches, which is correct?) and it needs to have less than 100,000 competition.
Here's what I am confused about: say it has 1000 local searches and only 20,000 competition... extremely good, right? But what if the sites on the first page are so strong, you will never make it to the first page, or even the second page? How can you tell?
If at all possible, answer in this thread, rather than pointing me to another ebook or guru. I have nearly a dozen ebooks on this, and most of them are poorly written and contain fluff, theory, or motivational stuff like "take action", "don't procrastinate", etc. I have not seen a single ebook that has specific instructions. What I am looking for is something like:
1. Open Market Samurai
2. Open XYZ site to get product ideas
3. Any topics you see on the XYZ site, whether it be beekeeping, tennis, green tea, or whatever, type into Market Samurai to get keyword ideas, setting the following options in the tool to get best results
etc.
etc.
I apologize for rambling, and I may be totally off on this, but I feel I am missing a critical piece of the puzzle.

The most cost effective way of promoting an affiliate product is through a sales page and work on building links to your sales page to get traffic.

Hi,

3 week ago I signed up for amazon affiliate. Setup wordpress and install lightword free theme. My site have 2000+ visitor so far but no sales. Analytics: 64% from US and CA.
I just realize today, when I hover amazon link in my site, it show someone link: petewill-20, not mine. I change my theme to arras but it doesn't fix the problem, still display someone aff: petewill-20 not mine.
I checked html post hundred time, and definitely sure that my aff ID is displayed there.
How can this happen? What should I do? If there any sales made, where the commission go: petewill-20 or my aff id?

Anybody, please help?

That said, there are some techniques.

Maybe just surf around the WSO section of this forum and there are lots of offers promising zero-investment methods.

Definitely don't try SEO or list building as that takes a lot more time and money than $100.

Well you need to visit either Warriors for Hire or Warrior Special Offers or Warrior Ads, you will get 100k visits for around $40-100, there is also a WSO on that has unlimited traffic for 1 month for around $50, this is REAL ad network traffic, with REAL ad networks, a few of our downlines have bought into it and have had signups, purchases and questions asked to them, from the traffic!

Hi,,,,,I've been making money online since 1995. Affiliate websites make more money than one for Adsense. There are alot of ways to make money online from selling a service or product on Warrior Forum to making money on Ebay or creating a niche and doing keyword research and buling blog/website and driving traffic to it. Now you can make videos and post on youtube with affiliate link to a CPA Offer or Amazon Product or your own ebook, or a squeeze page to build a list. There is one book I highly reccomend,,,,"From Newbie to Millionaire" You can buy a copy on Amazon and it tells you everything you need to know about IM and it is the only book you'll need. Keep it handy as a reference. It's best to pick out one way to make money and take action and work on it every day and stick to it and you will succeed. Hope that this post helps someone.
