Just curious to know which laptop you use to do your business?
I am using VAIO from CW series pretty much good.
P.S share your laptop's picture if you can :-)
Here is mine http://i53.tinypic.com/2yxejvm.jpg

I use VAIO too. I had an amazing experience with it. It had a 1-year warranty. And it started creating problems since it was 1 year and 1 hour old. Till that it worked like a true champion.

Could you believe what you read in my post? I'm real for sure.

It keeps creating some weird problems now and then nowadays but it is still working.

A friend of mine got chosen to be part of the beta testers aka he got one for free to keep. I've played with it, nothing special it has no OS it is JUST Google Chrome on a laptop. However, they may up things a bit with the actual launch so who knows .

On to the cool stuff I use Qosmio X505-Q8104 18.4-Inch Gaming Laptop (Omega Black). 18.4 Inch screen, Intel Core i7, and 2 500GB drives. Did I mention it was a laptop? lol yes I am a nerd

I have the entertainment variant to this model in the Sat Pro P500 which came fully spec'd, the only change I made was chaging from 4gig ram to 8. Does have a slight over heating issue when the fans block or heat sink need cleaning but nothing a quick clean out doesn't fix.

I think Lenovo are the only laptop manufacturer I'll consider for future purchases. There's just no going back.
Military-spec is a nice way of putting it. Also, the keyboard on mine is by far the best I've ever used, and I'm not quite sure why.

Macs are just out of the question for me. The one I had was the worst computer I ever had, got the least amount of work done before I got rid of it, and had more BSODs than the 3 pcs combined. I could go on, but too busy with worthwhile stuff.

I use a Sony VAIO CS21SR 14.1-inch Laptop. I love working on it but not just because it's my favourite colour red. It means a lot to me because I paid for it out of money that I had saved about 7 months after quitting smoking. My poor desktop doesn't get a look in.

I've been using an ASUS Eee PC 8.9 netbook since they came out in 2008 and have had no complaints whatsoever. I haven't used my desktop for about 2 years now. The little ASUS goes anywhere that I want it to and offers good performance. It uses a solid-state HD and so no moving parts to wear out. I'm an avid hiker/mountaineer and this little computer has been with me on a few wilderness trips and to several mountain peaks also and it just keeps working.

I bought it in 2002 and had no problems with it for 5 years plus. When it started to act up I got the Dell and then took the Seager to a friend to get it wiped clean and reloaded. Now it works fine again. I keep it for a spare.

      A quick but effective tip:

Take the laptop a bit to the left so that the Wireless Internet Modem is over the edge.

An INEFFECTIVE tip! I am already using the modem at it's FULL. Pushing the lappy all the way to the edge to the left will have the risk falling down when I'm walking in the room and hit the table.

I run a Lenovo (formerly IBM) Thinkpad X201:

It doesn't "look like much", but they're designed for professional, corporate use - not as consumer items. As such, the build-quality, performance and stability is light-years ahead of most regular consumer laptops. The price tag obviously reflects this, though.

I did have a HP i7 6GB RAM up until a few days ago until I knocked my coffee all over it!!! $1450 down the drain.

I bought a Toshiba 4GB RAM a couple days ago....it's quite nice....but it hurts ruining a great laptop that was practically new

I have several Dell D6500s, some HP 17" laptops and a few Acer/Gateways. When one locks up busy with doing something, I move onto a different one. I guess I'm jaded, but the technology does not interest me very much anymore. Now I've gotta focus on things that make me money

It's parked on my table right now, on a plastic box at least twice as high as the styrofoam blocks in someone else's pic.

That might not be really easy to do. It depends what is in your coffee cup. I double checked, and Paul Short did specifically say coffee was in his, but that might not go for everyone.

Yes, they're amazing computers. For me, the difference in quality between them and the majority of other manufacturers' laptops can't even be compared. The Lenovo's are practically military-spec.

I think the only manufacturer whose build-quality is somewhat comparable is Apple, but I really don't like their keyboards much, nor MacOS: I'm very much a Windows-PC guy and probably always will be.

I think Lenovo are the only laptop manufacturer I'll consider for future purchases. There's just no going back.

I recently had to buy a laptop on very short notice. I liked the specs/price of Dell's Inspiron 15R, poked around some, and found their 'refurbished' store.

I decided to risk a refurbished 'scratch & dent' since they claim only cosmetic problems, no operating problems.

I was able to order the 15R, i3 w/ 6Gb, plus overnight shipping & tax, total = $542. When it arrived, I was unable to find a single 'scratch', 'dent', or any other problem.

Great deal on a very good laptop. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the hyper-sensitive touchpad. Otherwise, I couldn't be happier.

      Michael,

I've been hanging out on the Dell Outlet store a lot recently because I'm planning to buy a new (for me) laptop and I was able to get a really nice one for my father-in-law from there several months ago.

They seem to have a lot of good deals in that price range, but I'm planning on saving a little more and getting one with a Solid State Drive in it.

What laptop did you upgrade from? I'm really curious to hear about the i3's performance for your needs.

Also, you should be able to adjust the sensitivity of the touchpad.

Hope to hear from you soon!

        Hey Chris,

It's hit-or-miss with the 'refurbished' store; they only list what's available and I lucked out, although I've went back a few times and seen similar and other really good deals.

That particular laptop was pre-configured with 6Gb, a minimum I was looking for. While you can add on options, Dell - and the Inspiron in particular - aren't very good with upgrade prices. I believe most of the refurb's are returns and are posted as they came back.
