Internet marketing changes continually. As we approach the end of 2014 I was just wondering what other WF members think will be the next trends for Internet marketing in 2015?

    Its a waiting game really...

But if some one DID know I highly doubt they would share it... If they knew something no one else did then I'm sure they will try to make money from it first...

Why would I, or anyone tell you? Competition is terrible for business. It's hard enough to get people to reveal what projects their working on...and you want to find out if anyone knows what is going to trend next year?

I'll give you a hint though....what movies are coming out in 2015? What music albums are slated to come out in 2015? Hint hint.

      Indeed, sir.

What exactly makes social media a goldmine? Please do tell, this promises to be entertaining. Unless you're trying to become the nexdt =3 (good luck with that) social media is not very useful. I know plenty of warriors that don't even bother with social media and they do just fine.

Social media, depending on what exactly you mean by that, has been losing its grip. I wouldn't say it's taking over anything at all.

        • Slightly less followers and slightly more innovators. Meaning more people will look for ways to succeed without looking to what the crowd (of marketers) is doing - or worse always following the crowd of marketers.
        • So, the philosophy of "follow the crowd and you'll succeed will take a big hit in 2015. More marketers will find success by doing the opposite of what the crowd is doing.
        • More people will take their chances (old school style) by looking at the market first instead of to the crowd of other marketers. Here's why ...
        • More people will notice by the time the (marketer) crowd finds out about a trend it's usually leveling off, saturated or ending.
        • Products and services that help people do it themselves will increase and expand in popularity.
        • Products and services who "claim" to do it for you will level off in many areas, because of disappointing results in the past and reputation.
        • Because of a more skeptical consumer, marketers will have to do an even better job of "showing" - instead of just "telling" about the benefits of their product or service.
        • More marketers will discover not only the importance of finding a niche, but the importance of developing, improving and strengthening your position in a niche. Otherwise you can easily lose it.
        • There will be less fallout, shock, and awe from dreaded Google updates, because of more educated marketers and more black hat marketers going legit.
        • More people will drop the old article marketing paradigm and shift to the new article marketing model and enjoy new success.
        • The Warrior Forum will attract more educated newbies who learn faster than those in the past, because of more access to information. More old school warriors (like me) will be forced to adapt to new school attitudes, vocabulary and interest of new marketers.

It'll be interesting. Stay tuned and fasten your seat belts. It won't be boring that's for sure.

          Niche Man:

What is "the new article marketing model"? Please explain what it is and how you are having success with it. I'm pretty sure others besides myself would like to know. Thank you.

My own feeling is just the opposite. I think the Warrior Forum will go the way it has over the past several months . . . more and more clueless newbies looking for quick riches with no work involved. They will continue to drop like flies at an even faster rate. It will be the newbies who will be forced to adapt to what the old school already knows about marketing, making money, and creating lasting businesses.

Good post, and thanks for sharing your ideas.

The new marketing model to many is content that is good enough to be socially bookmarked and shared - as well as posting to niche blogs and websites (via syndication and quest posting).

            - Branding will play a bigger role in article marketing to build trust. For example,

            - More people will start focusing/specializing on more targeted niches to brand themselves, instead of writing about and riding the latest trend - hoping to exploit it.

            - Guest blog articles must provide significant value, be published on a highly-relevant website, and is not done with the sole intent of acquiring an inbound link.

            - One long indepth published article is better than many small frequently published articles.

            - Not all content is king. Now it must be more targeted and preferably exclusive than ever.

These are examples, of course most are not new (par se'), but will play a bigger and some a more exusive role.

Here's an article in Huffington Post Business I ran across this morning that goes into a little more detail about the paradignm shift. Granted many are already aware of this shift but still millions of old and new marketers haven't gotten the memo yet.

Five Hard Truths About Content Marketing for 2104

Oh yes I agree, due to the low entry point and chance at fast cash the
"Get Rich/No Work" crowd will never stop.

I just think we''ll see more newbies coming in whose more knowledgeable - with less stars in their eyes than in the past. That just means less scam food for the shady to feed on. I hope. Because of the two following reasons.

#1 ... Because of the easy access to information, consumers in general is just more informed than in the past, including I.M newbies.

#2 ... Like fast riches, I.M also has a reputation for scams, skeptics and rip-off artist too. So, although you'll have the clueless newbies as you described. I believe you'll also notice more newbies with a business mind-set, willing to ask the questions and do the research and investigation - a little more than you did in the past.

The timeless principles you speak of will never die, you're definitely spot on there.

But, the methods, processes and new techologies will be where the 'break neck speed 'changes will take place. That's where youth or at least youthful thinking will have the advantage with time. So, I can't get any younger but I'll always make it a priority to think young - and not be afraid of change, but embrace it (best an old man can).

This, some things will never change.

And i also agree with sticking to the basics, those will always be the same.

I also think a lot of solo ad sellers will be out of business, as indicated by some other fellow marketers in recently released products, the industry needs a change and it doesn't look good for people selling crappy clicks. But what will it be? Let's see then

I'm thinking mobile marketing will become more prevalent - due to whatever new technology develops. New iphones and androids with improved capabilities is something that alot of marketers will look forward towards taking advantage of to make more money. Expect more info-products surrounding mobile marketing.
