Sitemap vs indexing site

INTERNET MARKETING

Is this the same thing? I installed the All In One Webmaster plugin which submitted my sitemap to Google and Bing. Did this index my site, or is there something else that I need to do also?

There more to it than just submitting your site to google, no matter which way you do it. So many people think you just need to submit and that's it.

You need to get backlinks, get traffic your site, social media, ect.

If you want to know if your site has been indexed in Google than just sign up for Google Webmaster same with Bing. This will tell you what has been indexed on your website.

As Ron said though, don't rely on just indexing your website because there is much more you need to do to get good traffic. More and more I am moving away from relying on Google in any capacity after all the updates they have done. Not only are they taking out the blackhat folks, but also good people who just got caught in the crossfire and watched there livelihood get destroyed overnight.

If you don't have any backlink there is no meaning indexed URL or your site map.

  Sorry that is not accurate. You do not have to have backlinks for your website to be indexed. Indexing just means that the search engine spiders crawl your website and creates a data structure or index containing relevant keywords and so on.
