Is Internet Marketing This Simple?

Well, a lot of things may be simple, but never quick and easy. Microsoft, Apple, Facebook and Youtube among others were each built from a simple concept that's difficult to execute and would definitely take time to promote, grow and expand, i.e.

• The simple concept behind Microsoft is to provide a cost-effective computing solution for enterprise, corporate, group and residential markets through the development and constant improvement of an OS that's independent from computer hardware manufacturers, which they hoped would drive computer hardware equipment and component costs down (which it actually did);

• The simple concept behind Apple is to provide an integrated computing solution to the markets above, with more focus on the residential market, through the development and constant improvement of hardware and software components that are integrated into packaged propprietary solutions promoted to work better than what Microsoft and PC hardware manufacturers are offering (many say it actually does);

• The simple concept behind Facebook is to provide a quick and easy way for people to mingle and share content with their peers and other like-minded people, find long lost peers, network with other professionals and like-minded people, talk to these people, draw the attention of their peers and other like-minded people unto themselves, etc., and for advertisers to find groups of people with specific interests and desires so as to pitch their relevant offers to these groups (and for investors to be lured into buying stock shares); and

• The simple concept behind Youtube is to create a platform where users can upload and stream their own videos, home movies, etc., for users to find and watch videos that match their interests via a huge searchable database of videos, and for advertisers to pitch their offers to viewers with relevant interests and to build a viewer base that could potentially become their buyers, repeat customers, viral / social marketers, etc (and to generate significant work volumes for IPR / copyright law firms and independent lawyers).

These are simple solutions for essential needs and problems of many groups of people around the world. It's simple, yes, but in almost all instances -- It's neither quick nor easy...
