Hello,

I am a new 2015 online marketer chasing the dream to work online like many other thousands of people here in this community...

Here is the deal:

I researched for months on which type of marketing system to use. Was I going to focus on adsense, or selling domains, or selling solo ads or affiliate ect...I decided to promote click bank products that are struggling and licensing their products so I can sell it as my own and they receive a royalty fee per sale.

I researched some more and I found a good niche. I spent a large sum of money into create a sales website. Money went into domains, host, templates, videos, ect...

I finally have my site, the product, the payment, and everything is set up and ready to go.

I spent $100 on ad's just to see what was my conversion rate would be. I tried 4 different campaigns to test it out in Facebook and Bing. I managed to have more then 500 targeted traffic to visit my site and view my product. The big problem is that I didnt get any sales.

So here is what im asking, why was my conversion rate 0%? I heard that video sales pages convert up to 3% easy and a good written sales page has at least 0.5% conversion rate.

My niche: Hair Loss
My Website: Howtoregrowyourhair.com
My Ad's: Discover an ancient secret that cures baldness!
  1. My niche is legit
  2. My sales site is legit
  3. My video is legit
  4. My product is legit
  5. My advertising was legit
  6. My traffic was legit

No sales...

Am I missing something? I need professional help...

Is my problem in my niche?
Is my problem in my product?
Is my problem in my video?
is my problem in the price?

I dont know... im kind of stressed out.

    A few things:

    1. Site can't be viewed on the iPad, it requires flash.
    2. You have to watch the video, there is no information other than what's in the video. I have a hard time believing a high percentage of your visitors sat through your 16 minute video.

.you are doing the exact opposite of what i would do. i would find something to get in to that is already succeeding. why would you put your money in to something that has already proven over time not to be of interest to people? that makes no sense.

i like the licensing idea, but the way i woulda gone about it is to find something that was successful in the past that can still be successful and the owner took it off the market for whatever reason. you can eithe4r do a licensing deal or buy it outright. even if it's outdated, you can still updated it and re market it

if it was my niche/product/landing page, i would edit your page in to a teaser to sell them on an idea and to "click here to watch the video". before they are able to watch the video, you send them to your opt in page to collect their information. get yourself an autoresponder of course and continue to presell them on the idea THEN try to sell them through a sales funnel. you don't even have a sales funnel dude. you have a video and a small buy now link. something that is under your copyright message <shaking head>. ok. i just noticed you have an add to cart putton after the video plays for a while.

in my opinion bud, this is a niche that needs more preselling. even preselling before you send people to this video. create a sales funnel and look for a cta trial offer you can use to help build your list and continue to presell for your main product

Just curious, how is it possible to write a three paragraph reply.. then proclaim you don't know what niche the OP is in or the product (when the OP clearly states "My Niche: Hair Loss" and provides a link to their site?

Then, to tell the OP they've wasted their time and money and should give up and try something else.. when you haven't even looked at the site.. or evidently read their post?

If you're going to provide feedback, at least read the OPs post first.

        Zioma,

It sounds like you are trying to invent a new way to make money online when there are dozens of existing proven ways to make money online. (you mentioned a few of them)

Trying to turn a losing product into a winner is far more difficult than selling a proven winner as an affiliate or otherwise.

Having said that, it sounds like you got some great experience by setting up hosting, domain, website, etc. and can take that experience and grow from it.

        Marketing is really simple.

It's putting the right message in front of the right people at the right time and in the right way.

Figure out how to do this profitably (and work at removing as many variables as you can - in that equation) and you will do a lot better.

I don't know anything about your niche -- too lazy to research it right now -- but two things stood how to me when I visited the page for a few seconds:

    1) There is no headline telling you what the name of the product is or the benefits.

    2) The "call-to-action" button (buy button) is practically invisible and misplaced. Seriously, I almost missed it. Why is it below the copyright info?

These are just a couple of things you need to work out.

  • Zioma,

Do you know why many successful software companies offer demo versions of their software products? Here's why:

They want to offer something free to their target customers who neither know them yet, nor have experienced the value that they can offer. Here's why:

This shows their target customers the value that their products and content can offer. This allows their target customers to experience that value; and

This also increases the likelihood of first-time viewers converting into subscribers, and subscribers converting into first-time buyers, and first-time buyers converting into repeat buyers, and repeat buyers converting into natural social marketers for your brand. So:

You can test this, instead of wasting traffic, because only a scant few people would buy anything from a site that they have neither heard of, nor have seen and experienced the value that the company behind the site can offer. So ...

    1. Let first-time viewers experience the value that you can offer -- Offer an irresistible opt-in product. Something attention-grabbing, enticing and compelling. Something that'd be a no-brainer for these first-time viewers to exchange their emails for the value of your opt-in product. Perhaps a shorter and more direct version of the first few sections of your paid Clickbank product?

    2. Show doubters the value of your relevant expertise -- You can do this through your onsite content ...

    3. Show your subscribers the added value that you can offer -- Give them email content and updates about your onsite content with value that nicely supplements the benefits of your opt-in product ...

    4. Give your subscribers attention-grabbing, enticing and compelling recommendations about your paid Clickbank product and other relevant affiliate products ...

NOTE: You should also integrate Facebook retargeting code and Bing remarketing code into all pages of your website. Here's why:

INVISIBLE OPT-INS = You can continue to promote your opt-in product via ads in Facebook, in Bing and in relevant sites with Bing ads. People who've already visited any page of your site, but have yet to get your opt-in product, will see your ads while they're hanging out in Facebook, while they're searching for something relevant in Bing, and while they're spending time in relevant sites with Bing ads ...

    Hi Zioma;

Trying to save a struggling product might be a noble ideal, there are however market realities that must be accepted:

    1. If a product does not solve a problem even if its sold once, it will not sell again.

    2. A product may be able to solve a problem but if the presentation of the product to prospective buyers is not credible, lacks emotional appeal, is not clear on value and benefits - it will not sell.

    3. Selling products online is complex: there are people who specialise in creating sales presentations, test and tweak, those presentations to optimize results (sales). That process can be expensive. If you are not familiar with persuasion methods / techniques you will not get sales. You are likely to lose money before you start making a profit if you try to develop sales presentations without the necessary expertise and testing capabilities.

    4. If you want to help the developer of the struggling product - recommend to that person to proven training in product development for online marketing success.

    5. You too can invest in IM training for success online. With that type of training you will be better able to apply what you learn to any niche market.

My 2 cents about your site.

Am I on the right page? Where is the Headline?
What do you expect visitors to do? Sign up for your list? Buy Your product? I can't see any call to to action button.
There is just little "Buy Now" words down under the page.
    This is an informational page.
When I tried to close the page, it ask me if I want to leave or stay. I choose stay and it give me a blank page.

    My advice :
If you stay in this product. Go back to your drawing board, and re-design the site.

Or start as an affiliate before jumping into reviving a dead product/s.

That webpage is awful for conversions. There is no information about the product other than the video. You need headlines, features, benefits, etc. Something to pull me in.

I'm not sitting through that video.

Your buy now button is weak also.

As for your traffic, traffic from Bing and Facebook ads is usually going to convert lower for something like this than AdWords traffic. The traffic is not the problem though. It is 100% that website.

I would never buy from a site like that no matter what it was selling.

    1. Find out where those people hang out who most want your solution
    to their problem.

    2. Tell them about your solution.

    3. Get them to either join your email list for more information
and then ASK them to pay you for that solution.

    4. You can also try and touch base with them a few times first once
you have them on your lists.

    5. Build rapport and relationships with them.

    6. This will increase sales and the Know, Like & Trust factor

In this particular case, I disagree. I don't think the OP is in a position to create a list and a relationship with that list about this particular subject.

I think the OP needs to go back to basics. You may have done too much research. Ignore any method you know nothing about...i.e, forget about selling domains or solo ads.

Don't choose a product by finding one that is NOT selling well - if the creator of a product can't sell it - how will you do it?

LEARN to build your own site/blog. That is basic IM 101 and too many people are skipping over the "LEARNING" portion trying to go directly to "money in my paypal acct." If you don't learn the basics when you are starting out - it will come back to haunt you time after time.

i agree with this advice 100%. it's exactly how i got my start...learned gradually over time, and implementing what i learned.

the only problem i see with that advice right now is that he put a lot of time and effort and money in to this already. it's definitely salvageable with the right advice. the only problem with salvaging it though is that zioma's thoughts are all over the place and needs specific direction.

since he already has the product he licensed and tested traffic and has a pretty good video, maybe a partnership/jv can help him through this.

Hi - First thing is you NEED to capture email addresses, it's not the niche or the product - it's all about trust and contact with your customers. How many time do you go to a site and immediately buy after watching a video? I bet never. But what happens when you get on a list and get more useful info.

    Put a popup/lightbox - offer a 10% discount for signing up and 20 tips on hair growth/protection.

Craft a daily email for a week with good info about the product.

      Zioma,

Did you do your research into the market to see what people in your pool of prospects really want?

You can never assume you know what the market wants - you have to dig into your audience and learn from them.

There are products flying around the Internet that many affiliates are trying to sell and no one wants to buy them.

Internet business always begins at identifying demand.

      The very best to you,

That is fantastic my friend! Most sales are done in the follow up but I also do PPC direct linking to clickbank.

If you are doing this be prepared to get cash-flow because you will need to to test and see what works and what doesn't.

Once you find an ad that works and keywords that get you conversions you can scale up.

Easier said than done but unless you have a very good training on how to convert cold traffic I would suggest you build your email list and promote the products over there in order to make more sales.

      Congrats!

However, I must say...You need to host your video on sales page at other popular video hosting services like Wistia and then embed the video, Which will be visible at all devices without any delay....

I agree with a lot of what has been said here regarding the video and improved methods. Before you do anything else, I would create another video using head shot (real person) instead of talking in the background with all of the text on the screen. Test the new video against the current one and see if that conversion rate isn't way better. I would actually record the new video using a male and then using a female. Test it all out and then incorporate some of the other suggestions and you likely have a winner. You need charisma and someone that people can relate to if you want to sell it! There's nothing to grab your attention or compelling about your video, get someone with a personality to present it.

Zioma, well done on your first sale --- you see, you can do it! You got some awesome replies to your post and I'm happy for you that you've promised to learn from them. I spend many years and far too much money trying to work things out on my own. I finally realized I wasn't going to make money online without a mentor --- someone to tell me what to do, and how to do it. One of the first things he suggested was to join Warrior Forum and, as you've found out, there are lots of knowledgeable people on her who willingly share their time and their expertise to help others.
