I Forgot The Fundamentals...

I watched my open and click rates TANK this week!

I was so focused on promoting a product to my list and the income potential that I forgot about relationship building. I heard the message loud and clear. Keep my eyes on the big picture. A good relationship with my list brings more profit in the long run.

Can anyone relate?

    Another thing email marketers need to realize is: you're not the ONLY "sales pitch" email your optin is getting! GEEZ!

    Some get hundreds a day and they're all selling the same WSO!

    Quit it already!

    Teach me something new! Talk to me! Stop being so shallow! This is the result of your efforts. Then you call me a cold list? You're the cold one!

    Learn to make friends and (then) influence people!

      Absolutely this.

      But for what it is worth, that has helped me identify trends / to see what offers are currently hot, and that I might want to consider in the near term.

      Still professorrosado is right on the money here - Learn to make friends and gain (keep!) their trust.

    Building relationships with your subscribers is not what's going to make you the most money.

    For me, most of the sales I got from doing email marketing, were people who JUST SUBSCRIBED to my list.

    Yeah man I feel you 100% on this one. We work so hard to build our lists, but it's so easy to destroy it. Building relationships with your subscribers can be the difference between $100 a day for a year or $100 a day for a week. It's all about how you treat your list.

    I don't think of my customers like playing a game of chess, and how to manipulate them to get the responses I want.

    I personally prefer to just ask myself, "what's going to deliver the best experience to my customer, knowing they'll want to pay me for a quality product?", and it works wonders.
