YouTube video removed. Will this work instead?

Today I created and uploaded a video to YouTube for my own Amazon product.

A few hours later I got this:

"The YouTube community flagged one or more of your videos as inappropriate. After reviewing the content, we've determined that the videos violate our Community Guidelines. As a result, we removed the following videos from YouTube"

This resulted in 1 strike.

It doesn't really give a reason but I am guessing its one of two things:
1. I had a direct link to the Amazon product in the description + call to action at end of video
2. A competitor just flagged the video

I hope its the first reason. If it is and I take the following steps do you see any issue with re-uploaded?
1. No mention of Amazon in video or description
2. Link to the brand website instead
3. In the video my call to action would be something like "check out our website for more details"

Do you think the above violates any of YouTube T&C's. They are quite hard to make head nor tails out of.

Has anyone been in a similar situation?

I really don't want to run the risk of my channel being banned.

It's probably a better idea to review and sell other people's products through affiliate links on YouTube. If you're selling for yourself, it looks like spam. I can't speak from experience, though.

Why not just link to your own blog or site and review it there with it's affiliate link?

I agree. Have them sold via affiliate links. This is safer compared to the method that you have used.

You should be sending all your traffic to a squeeze page first. Very few people buy on first contact and you will increase your commissions if you opt them in and follow up.

I just had the same thing happen, in less than 24 hours even. I thought you could put nust about anything on YouTube, so I figured a simple video with text promoting an idea and a link in the description to my landing page would be okay, but I guess not. I had no affiliate links or anything like that.

After reading the thread nmwf linked to, it is clear my video was too spammy if even Amazon product review videos are being taken down. I'll have to try to put together something of more value. The site I linked to is just a squeeze landing page, so I should probably expand with a blog that relates and talk about topics on the blog.

So, long story short, it sounds like we have to put more value-added content into a video and be careful where we link to make Youtube a viable traffic source.

moontreeltd got it exactly right. Make your videos informational and informative. Then link them to an informational blog. Use YouTube to drive traffic to your blog then use your blog to drive traffic to your offers.

Instead of going for the direct sale, send them to your site where they can enter their name and email address on your squeeze page. Then sell them to them further there. It really is that simple.
