Warrior Forum Blogs - any benefit?

Something I have never used on the WF is the option to have a WF Blog.

I know there are some who do use this feature and would love to know if there is any benefit to be gained by using it.

Thanks in advance.

They get views - you can tell that from the stats shown on the listings.

Sometimes I get clicks through to my website which means another visitor I wouldn't otherwise have got.

And they get indexed by Google which means you get another inbound link to your website.

Honestly, I would not place a lot of faith in WF backlinks, especially from the blogs. While they do deliver additional traffic, Google has clearly stated that "content mills" will not see favorable rankings and anyone can post anything to their blog here. And there are some great articles but there's also a lot of garbage, so I wouldn't do it JUST FOR a backlink strategy.

If you have something to share with the world though and you don't want to post it on your website (or you don't have a website), then go for it.

There are better uses of your time, Graham. But there are advantages. You just need to devote the appropriate amount of time.

    WF Blog Benefits:

    1. Ranking for long-tails in Google.
    2. A little internal traffic.
    3. Brand building.

WF has a little Google juice. So, just like when EZA had similar juice, you can quite easily rank for low-competition long-tails.

WF receives around 6.7 million visits a month, or around 223,000 visits a day, not all of them unique obviously. If you have a few thousands posts, presenting a great many eyeballs with the blog link number beneath your name in those posts, you can get a little traffic, but you're talking double figures on the day of posting to your blog.

    Source: Similar Web: WF.

Brand building is the biggest strength, and the reason I actually made a post myself yesterday. There are a handful of people on WF who I religiously read. Smart people. People not making tired and obvious posts in order to boost sig views, but people who generously share information of value. When they post, I read. Posting to your WF blog strengths your brand in a similar way to writing quality posts. In a sense, it supports the posting.

But! As mentioned - better uses of your time. The type of traffic you can receive from WF, and indeed the brand building benefits, can be acquired much more easily and in greater abundance by blogging on your own website. If you do go ahead and do it though, I'd recommend doing so for #3 and devoting a short amount of time to it. You'll hear a lot of marketers tell you to only add content to your own websites - and they tend to tell us this while posting on a forum - and while they're not entirely wrong, there are benefits to posting elsewhere. You just have to devote your time accordingly.

Honestly, I have never had anything to do with it. Just not my thing but I do not doubt Tom in that it can be very beneficial if done properly

I think the Branding aspect is something that I would personally like to look into further. Great point
