What are some good productivity tricks or applications you use to stay productive ?also my IM story

I have been messing with online marketing for about a year and a half now. The last 3 mouths I've been fortunate enough to be able to get paid while I was learning by working with start ups who were looking for someone with online marketing experience. I did learn a lot in these 3 months the main skills I acquired were web-design, SEO and social media marketing. I would not consider myself an expert but I have a solid foundation and feel confident enough to be able to do this.

I do have a part-time job that helps with the bills but leave me $1000 dollar short each month. I can get away with 6 months of not producing any additional income besides my part time job. After that I would be in trouble and need to start working full time again. I still do some consulting gigs which range anywhere from $100 - $500 a month but can depend on it. I also want to try to start flipping things on eBay and amazon. I plan to start by selling things I have lying around the house and visiting resell stores. If any of theses things pick up I can continue to practice online marketing. My goal is not to make millions over night but to start small and keep building my business until I make enough to be able to do this as a full time gig.

I have also been working on my writing skills. Which still kind of suck but is a huge improvement than what it was a few years ago. My goal is to start a website in a niche market. I plan on adding content on the website as well as using Facebook to gain a following.

I also plan on blogging about myself mainly for fun and Blogging is a great way produce a extra stream of income. The main thing I want to know is those who are a head of me what are some things you have learned while doing this. Is there any productivity trick or applications you recommend?
my main struggle how slow of a pace I am currently moving. It took me 2 days to get to day 1 .

Well, it sounds like you have a gameplan (somewhat vague but the ball is rolling) but motivation is the question.

This may sound cheesy but I go to Pinterest and look up motivational quotes that inspire me for the next day. I plan tomorrow's work today. I write it down on my To Do list and refer back to it as it will be my driving force.

As an example for today..."Hard work pays off...Period"

So when google, facebook or whoever give me a hard time for whatever reason this little phrase of the day reminds me to keep working hard, it pays the bills.

You're probably looking for something else, longterm stuff but I offer this little nugget instead.

The link of great joy and happiness...but this one? This is the one that all window cleaning companies in the free world are inspired by. Hey, where did the sarcasm font go?

    1. Do the one thing you least want to do first thing in the morning.
    2. Batch emails. Check once or twice a day max.

    Do have written goals?
Are they in financial terms? (X dollars in X amount of time).

Last week I flipped a bird cage for a 250 dollar profit. I spend about 45 mins every morning going through my local craigslist looking for "stored value", if I see something, I call one of my friends who specializes in such things, find out if there is profit...then pull the trigger.

The "secret" to buying and selling things is you make your profit when you buy.

On the wall above my computer, I have several White Boards, weekly, monthly and yearly. This lets me see where I am, and where I intend to go.

It looks like a fire escape on the side of a building. Each step represents time, and the top is the RESULT, my goal...then I backward chain the steps, what do I have to do every step if the way to reach the goal.

This may sound like a lot of work, but if you don't have a map of where you want to go, and a route to follow, a CLEAR DESTINATION of what you want...then you will just wander your way around...and head toward shiny objects.

So, do you have written goals and action steps?

    Best productivity tips I know.
Work in silence, no TV,Radio, Youtube... No family, no friends, (I work early in the morning because it's quiet)
Pomodoro Technique (Write a to do list, then set your egg timer to 25 minutes and finish within that time)

I blog and send emails daily.

So, swipe files are my bread and butter.

Not in the typical sense though... I actually write my OWN swipe files.

So, how do I stay creative, AND productive?? I jot down my ideas as they come, so each day I can provide awesome content.

(Starting out with a good topic is the surest way to beat writer's block).

And classical music helps too. (Also, Boards Of Canada is a huge boon).

Balancing so many clients' social media accounts can be hectic. I like using Asana to help keep track of what needs to be done and project progress. I find being able to tick off the tasks (it shoots a unicorn across your page, too, just for a laugh) keeps me productive and on task.

I would also recommend batching your email replies.
Use Dropbox or a similar option to make sure all of your files travel with you, especially if you use multiple computers throughout the day.

I would suggest using online productivity tools and having an accountability partner.

It helps if you enjoy the process. Not just certain aspects.

Internet marketing is my video game.

To be productive, you will need to focus on one project at a time, and making sure you give it some time every day. Persistence is key!

On the other hand you will need to manage your time well so that you don't see yourself reaching the end of the day without doing what's important. I remember a couple of years ago I have got a time management app called "Success Manager Pro" by Greg Frost as a bonus product. It looked helpful, so you could give it a try if you can find it.

it looks like you have a very big and impressive game plan. the only problem is that you are not rising from your comfort zone and act. according to your description, you already know what to do, the only advice is to do one thing at a time. All the best
