    Hello megalinktraffic,

I suggest you to try inkscape : https://inkscape.org

it's an open source software which can run on windows, mac and linux.

I use it personally to redraw any graphic design I found usable.

Sure, you have to learn it how to use first, but after some hours you could be proud to tune your graphic as you will.

There is a ton of tutorials in youtube, for example:

I considered buying this recently, as all the 3D software I currently have requires Photoshop, which gets the job done, but this looked really cool; http://covergeniepro.com

Also, you can look into fellow warrior; Max Rylski- he has tons of graphic bundles, I've bought most of my graphics from his wso's and special offers. Good stuff.

For me, Adobe Photoshop works very well. It is simple to use and is able to create e-book covers, logos and other graphics easily.

For e-covers, I use a macro that is enabled in the software. You just need to design the flat version and it will create a 3D model of your choice. (not limited to e-bookcovers)

You can get the macro and designs at PSDCovers • Photoshop Mockups For Product Presentation

    Hello

GIMP is free open source software an can do most things that PhotoShop can.

Also have a look at one of our English Software Companies. Serif.com They have great software. They have free editions of WebPlus (Website Design), PagePlus (Like Microsoft Publisher) PhotoPlus (like PhotoShop), DrawPlus.

They are listed as Starter Editions but are actually jus the previous release of each software, so are fully featured.

    Cheers

    Lindy

If you would like to make this good design, You need to learn the Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator. Even you can use the Corel Draw or some other software like these. I think these apps are good. If you do not know how to use these apps, you can hire a freelancer to solve this problem. I am sure you will be able to get any good freelancer in any freelancing market. There are many freelancing market place, you can use any of them. Thanks.

In my opinion, Adope Photoshop Elements is a great alternative to Adobe Photoshop. You can get full, older versions for around $50-70 on Amazon.

This is a much better alternative to paying a recurring fee (which adds up very quickly over time) for the most recent Adobe products, or paying a fortune for Adobe Photoshop. As someone who is not a graphics expert, but uses the product for business, this is an ideal solution.

I would agree with this and for an additional reason. You can get some great tutorials for the photoshop products. From books to youtube videos.

And like funkdoctor says you can get older versions, that still work great, on amazon as well as ebay for around $50.00

My two pennies worth: If you want bitmaps consider using Photofiltre or PaintDotNet or if you are going to work with vectors Inkscape is your answer.

i dig photoshop, and a while back they accidentally released Adobe CS2 free. Managed to download it from Adobes site along with the working registration codes.

That said, their new subscription system is quite affordable. I think its like $10/month for the latest version?

It's taken me ages to finally get used to it, but I love to use GIMP. It's free to download is a lot like Photoshop.

If you need something simplier, try PicMonkey.com. It's a free online service that allows you to create and download awesome graphics, banners, etc.

gimp is good however the newer versions have issues with most of the script-fu and plugins. so my advice would be to go with gimp 2.6 as 2.8 has a lot of issues.

Photoshop CC would be your best choice, because it's cloud based now and you can try it for free or pay only for one month etc. It's really flexible atm when it goes to payments. Moreover, there are tons of nice tutorials regarding banner design via photoshop.

There is really two elements to graphic design software: Raster graphics and Vector Graphics. The usual recommendations are for Photoshop (Raster) and Illustrator (Vector).

I refuse to rent software, so the Adobe offerings are out of the question for me. I used GIMP for years, which is a great alternative. In the last couple of years, I moved from Linux to Mac. Here is what I have settled on:

For vector (hand drawings, logos, etc.): iDraw (now called Graphic). It's a great vector graphics app, and is remarkably cheap. This is what I use for all my vector graphics.

For raster (photos and photo manipulation): Affinity Photo. A powerful raster graphics app, and again, remarkably cheap. I also use Lightroom, but that's mainly for my fine-art photo quick processing.

Photoshop... But of course that is very expensive and does not make sense for everyone.

I stumbled upon snappa a couple of days ago. A great tool to create nice graphics even if you have no clue about designing... check it out: snappa.io

The Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator & Corel Draw are not same. So youneed to use that apps, where you are expert. If you know how to use the Adobe Photoshop or, Adobe Illustrator, you will be able to do all kinds of graphics designing work without any problem. On the other hand if you know how to use the Corel Draw, you will be able to do all works. So here I would like to make you understand if you know how to use Photoshop, you won't need to learn the Corel draw. Thanks for understanding.

    Rueben,

What no one else is telling you about great graphics design is this . . .

Every graphics software is simply a tool.

Great graphics are made by great human designers. The magic isn't really in the tool . . . it's in the mind and skill of the designer.

Sure, software is important to eventually help render the graphic images that the designer creates . . . but never forget that great graphics are only possible when humans design them and then put their ideas into pixels!

    Like people suggested: Photoshop

It pays off to take a little course to get the basics handled. Once you know how everything works it can be surprisingly simple. You just need to develop a good designer eye.

    Hi,

My designer that I work with uses Adobe InDesign and she highly recommends it and it can do some pretty amazing things.

Like anything you do need to learn the program and the functions, however once you have done this you can make professional graphic designs that are print quality as well.

There are plenty of programs that offer student prices or a university editions which allows you to buy the program at a reduced price, so you might want to keep an eye out for an offer like this to help you save costs while you are starting out in this area.

    Good luck!

I'll be another vote for inkscape.

It's really not all that hard to learn compared to photoshop. There are many free tutorials on youtube.

If you're looking to create eCovers and product shots, you can check out pixel studio fx. They make it pretty easy to create nice looking covers quickly.
