Try Screencast-O-Matic.com (I use the paid version).

While the free version works well enough, there's a small watermark in the corner for the service and the time limit is 15 minutes, if I remember correctly.

The paid subscription is only $15/year, which works out to $1.25/month so don't be so cheap that you can't spare an extra $15 for the unlimited recording time.

I use the simple screenshot facility on my computer. If you have windows you can use ctrl + print and voila, you have a screenshot which you can paste into anything you like, e.g. into word or paint or Photoshop. Best Regards

I use screencastomatic too.

I also love snagit which is relatively inexpensive but can do so many incredible things:

I think there's a free trial but I particularly love the scrolling capture which is fantastic when you want to save a whole web page.

Many have already mentioned Screencast-O-Matic, but I'd just like to suggest you invest the measly $15 bucks to get the pro version. It has so much more and you're not limited to 15-minutes.

Plus you get the full-suite of editing tools.

$15-Bucks is ALMOST totally free, isn't it?

Screenr was retired on November 12, 2015.

As you might already know, Screenr's recording capability was based on Java RE (Runtime Environment), which rapidly became antiquated. For example, Google Chrome doesn't support Java RE anymore. So Screenr couldn't run there. And on other browsers, Java support is also limited, causing constant problems for users.

Because we at Screenr pride ourselves on providing a superior customer experience, these issues were simply unacceptable. And there was no way around them.

If you'd like to download your videos, please visit our download page at your earliest convenience. Simply search for your username and select the videos you wish to download. Please note, all of your embedded videos and links to your videos continue to work.

Here is the link to a company called "BlueBerry" software
out of the U.K .

This is a video screen capture software.
You can download their free version which I have used.

It did not have any watermarks, or time limitations, when
I downloaded and used it a couple of years ago, although
that may have changed, but I just checked it out and it still
appears that it is a "Clean" reproduction.

It is Windows based, so if you have a Mac it will not work for you.

The only drawback is that it only formats the final product
in AVI or Flash (SWF or FLV).

I've tried 7 or 8. The most powerful free screen recording software is ActivePresenter and it also has a decent built in video editor. But the more power a program has, the higher the learning curve.

I use ice cream screen recorder, free version limits to 10 minutes but thats enough for me. The PRO version offers alot more options and is only a 1 time cost of $29.95

Such a long thread here! I just want to say that Screenr has resigned for quite a long time. Personally speaking, I like to use one online application offered by ShowMore (ShowMore - Record, upload and share your video easily on web) website. It can be activated directly online so that I do not need to pay for screen capturing feature. Audio can recorded from system and microphone. Anyway, not bad.

I used CamStudio - Free Screen Recording Software on many videos, see samples on my site, there is one on my home page, I did add some custom stuff to my videos, like cover image and movie maker affects.

But they were filmed with cam studio, just learn it, and then you can add all the cool stuff later.
