Where can I find a guide to learn about buying websites?

I think about buying established websites on Flippa to earn money from them but I dont know much about it. Where can I find a guide to help me learn about buying a website?

I'd be careful with guides and read them with caution as they can often be setup to feed you to the producers sales page.

I'd start by studying offers and deals at Flippa, Sedo, etc, then read domain forums here, at WHT, namepros, dnforum, etc, then read up at some of the industry news sites such as
dnjournal.com, domaining.com, domainnews.com and then these will lead you to others. Remember to be wary of stats and data if basing a purchase off someone else's claimed traffic and revenue data. Buying domains isn't like buying a house, there's no real regulations, no realtors, title companies, lenders, etc doing due diligence on your behalf. Educate yourself as much as you can if you are serious about this. Good luck.

This is a good business model, Scuderia, but you need deep pockets, experience, and you'll want to purchase mid-ticket websites, and you should expect to take losses until you gain experience. You should also not expect to break-even in the short-term. A better approach, IMO, is building valuable websites.

I'm not affiliated with either, but Bryan O' Neil is a guy that has a lot of great info on the subject. Check him out since I know you'll find it helpful. If you're really serious, there's also resources like Lendvo, who provide financing for these kinds of acquisitions. Good luck!

You annoy me quite a bit. You definitely haven't been around since 1995...and even if you did...you suck at what you do. It's clear to me that you don't know what you're talking about when it comes to any of subject matter here...yet you drone on and on as if you did. Shut up already. Your feigned expertise is very annoying.

I'd rather tell you an ugly truth than a pretty lie.

I think it's best for you to do your own research, there is a mountain of free resources / information on the web. Definitely this site is a good reference point. I would suggest you narrow your research at first and look at what niche(s) you want to trade in. I'm sure you know some popular niches like wealth, business and weight loss. Look for sites that have traffic (real traffic), are affiliate based or have product offerings, look at ways you can add the value to monetize these sites. Treat website domain flipping just like real estate flipping, you may have to hold a while until the market is right before you can flip. Good luck in your venture.
