Do companies like Amazon or other large online business' use regular email for communication or some other software or plug in?

I am developing a Wordpress site and will be using a VA but it scares me to have one person who could literally wipe out my whole contact list and emails from thousands of customers..

What are they using?

    You can restrict/limit access to users in WP. You can give you VA limited access.

      How do I do that as far as messaging with email or something similar?

      Besides Gmail delegation which won't work?
