7 Years Experienced Web Developer Trying To Earn Money Online

Hi guys I'm new here.

So I've always had a dream of launching my own product online, preferably a saas product, but there is so much competition out there. It seems everything I try to do there is someone out with established product and lot of resources out there.

I have lost all hope and don't know what to do. I have 7 years of experience in the web industry worked with some big companies with big user bases, but I've always worked with teams with proper planning etc. I have lead teams in projects, but we always had our requirements set before hand. This time it's a completely different scenario as I have a blank canvas that I can draw whatever I want.

I want to quit my job and start my own company but I want to start small. What kind of products sell well online? I know wordpress plugins sell well, should I start selling those? I'm completely lost. Is it better to sell one product or sell services for hourly.

I think instead of coming up with new ideas you can take a look at what's already selling in Software ( You can find it from WarriorPlus or JVZoo top sellers ) and try to improve upon it by adding new features or giving it a better User Experience or give it a new angle.

Create white label service. Provide contents for members to resell the way they want/like as long as they are using (paying) your hosting service. Make the content in packs, so they can choose to buy as much as they want a long the way to make profit with. Good luck!

    1. Find small niche, something you are passionate about, and that had no massive competition - this way your start will be much easier.

    2. Build site with good content, do not over think design; you can start a blog for virtually no cost.

    3. Research your audience (find some forums on the subject), and address their problems on your website.

    4. Be sure to collect their emails, and start providing a value to them.

    5. Finally, sell them something!

I have had loads of job interviews at SAAS places. There are still massive opportunities. Most of them will come from ideas you have in your day job, especially if you work in a specific vertical.

Also it's often better to target a vertical with $$$$$ in it, law, fund management and insurance are particularly lucrative.

Of course you'll need money, but that's what Kickstarter is there for!
