Looking for a reliable niche

Hi everyone, I've come across a lot of options to start a website and I'm now ready to set up my website after careful study.

I am looking for someone to share a reliable and profitable niche that I can use that has proven to be useful. I can share something in return if someone is willing to share a secret, and tell me the clever techniques to draw traffic in masses instead of relying on phony traffic sellers? God bless

If you haven't chosen a niche yet, you're not ready to set up a web site. The very first decision you should focus on is the audience ... those people you plan to serve with your business.

When you have the audience decision made, you are then in a position to carve out a niche for your business.

Here is a short PDF that every aspiring Internet seller should read - it will only take you 15 minutes but it is invaluable. It talks about "evergreen" niches - those that continue to offer up lots of opportunity for Internet sellers.

BTW, mind explaining what he meant if you get your niche wrong then you're screw forever.

I believe the author was talking about the fact that some niches are not really conducive to regular and dependable income for solo entrepreneurs.

There are some niches that are not really "money niches." Certainly money can be made in most every niche, but there are some examples where the money going into niche products and services is very limited. People interested in the niche are not there to spend money.

You will hear successful marketers say that they "go where the money is." They stick with tried and true niches, often where there are a lot of competitors, because money flows and changes hands between vendors and consumers easily.

It's true . . . if you choose to spend all your efforts and time in a non-money niche, you will struggle to produce income. Why handicap yourself with that burden? It's much wiser to go into markets where the money flows, there are lots of products for sale, and consumers continue to spend money for online purchases.

And I think this is where we sometimes come into a dilemma with the two parties. One says to always follow your Passion no matter what and the others who say to just follow where the money is at and forget passion.

One of my passions the last 10 years or so is Disc Golf. But truthfully there is just a ceiling on how much you can make with it money wise.

Of course the ideal scenario is to have a intense passion about a topic that has enormous opportunities for making money

Wouldn't it, then, be better if you got passionate about making money? Or about what making money means to you? As in, get passionate about funding your son's college fund while paying the mortgage and for that vacation in Paris you're dreaming about?

Having a passion may make writing blog posts and customer service easier, but we do not really care what a niche is, as long as it gets a ton of searches and is selling moderately expensive items (at least $300) for our standard eCommerce stores (Shopify/AliExpress model is a whole different price point).

We quickly found out that when you start making money, you get very passionate about almost any niche.

          Good point there Steve B!

I've seen some people that go into the Dating niche and became teachers and Pick Up Artist.
Is it possible to just create my own product to fulfill that market without becoming a teacher? Some people are not willing to put themselves out there, and I'm one of them. I don't have the personality.

    What about selling boat anchors?

    Seriously, there's no secret.

I don't know why people complicate sales. Every single thing you've ever bought put money in another persons pocket.

Because you don't know if boat anchors is the best niche.

What if you could sell refrigerators and make more money?

What if you can sell roof shingles and make more than you do with anchors or refrigerators?

What if? What if? What if?

Plus, isn't it much easier to get stumped at what if than actually make a sale?

Yup, the what-if bug's killed quite a few business before it was born and it will keep doing it. Sad.

Keep in mind that there is a big world outside of MMO / selling products and services.

I've been promoting affiliate / CPA offers for over 16 years.

I heavily promote PPL (pay per lead...lead generation) offers. This is because there is no credit card / purchase required to complete an offer. All a user has to do is fill out a form, so conversion rates are typically much higher compared to offers that require a sale to be made.

I favor offers that have a make, get or save money benefit to them, as they have overall worked the best. They also tend to have the greatest mass appeal (will be of interest to a large general audience), so the potential exists to produce high volume.

Some of the verticals (niches) I have done extremely well with are: education, insurance, loans, debt, credit, mortgage, assistance, discount offers, homeowner offers, etc...

The bulk of the offers that I promote pay $20-$40 per lead, but I also promote offers that pay more and less. You don't want to get too caught up on what an offer pays because how well it converts is just as important. For example, if you have an offer that pays $9, but if it converts at 2X or more of a $20 offer, then it will perform about the same or possibly better. At the same time, if you have an offer that pays $90 and it converts poorly, it may not even be worth promoting.

Bottom line is that it's far easier to get someone fill out a short form than to get them to pull out their credit card and make a purchase. So why struggle with trying to sell this or that, when you can provide free information that users want/need and get paid well doing it.

Something to consider when deciding about niches.

I always get that, 'Not Again' thought when I read these kind of threads. Why? In my experience the OP is looking to be spoon fed the entire way. There is so much information online now to look at and make this decision yourself.

Here is one. Pets! Yup there you go! Pets are reliable and profitable niche. Now it is your turn to go from here. Oh, wait now you want traffic handed to you? What are the phony traffic sellers? How about you create some original content and begin to capture a list? Read and Read while taking notes. Take action.

There are different profitable niches. You have to select a niche before starting.
Your niche can be really helpful so select the best niche that you really enjoy it.
Working with a single niche is the perfect decision.
You can select health, technology, finance, personal development, blogging, SEO and more niches.
Any niche can be profitable if you really enjoy it and provide the best information.

The only reliable niche is one you feel passionate about, one you dive into and study, and one you feel clear and confident working. Start with your passion. Add due diligence. Gain clarity.

Helping bloggers felt fun to me 3 years ago. I dove into the niche. Did some research. Gained confidence and clarity. So I laid the foundation for it to be reliable, and through my honing of my skills, through diligent practice, and through creating and connecting, it became reliable

I've got some bad news, OP

If people know of a truly profitable HIGH ROE / ROI niche, they wouldn't share it

This should not be a surprise

They put in the time and effort to find it

At best, the niche recommendations you would get online would be saturated

I suggest you INVEST in your business by hiring a VA to find niches for you OR you can buy tools to find it yourself

I doubt anybody is ever going to give away their killer niche idea, let alone how to become really profitable at it.

That said, the main piece of advice I always give is to stay away from any niche where people can buy the things they are selling at a local store. It's fine if you carry 25 models and the local store only has one, but if people can drive down the street and buy something instead of waiting for it to come, they usually will.

Start looking at the world differently than you do now. When you are driving, walking around, watching a TV show or movie, constantly look at everything you see and ask yourself one simple question ... "where can I buy that?" If you have no clue where to buy it, chances are very good that it is an excellent online niche.

    A good niche?

Look at any of the niches that have been around for a long time and continue to exist. Some off the top of my head - loans, credit reports, diet, etc

Like Steve B said, the core thing in a website is the niche. Actually, that is the basis of the website, content, the very core of it's existence. That is why you have to do proper KWR, establish your audience, and subniche. Then everything else will fall in place. It forms the foundation of the site.

I think you start THE WRONG WAY

Firstly you have to know that almost 80% of people spend 15 second on a new website, expecially if it's brand new.

So you have to focus on building your list with an opt in page, and before all of this, Choose a NICHE.

The most profitable niches are Health, Wealth and Datin/Romance/Sex advices.

So it's better u focus on one of them and NARROW as much as possible: i mean if you focus on health, maybe u can focus on paleo diet etc....

..and you have to see if theres a good competition, if not dont choose that niche. Check it using Google Keyword tool and look for 5k+ keywords. Also use Fb Audience, and watch if there are product to promote, as an example in Clickbanks.

Then build up an Opt In page where you capture the visitor mail in exchange of something valuable, as a resport or audio or something.

Then build a funnel where you provide content to the leads you collected and at the same time promote products you tested before.

THEN you can build up a Blog, a Site, where you can write some good content, and set a pop up bx for lead generation purpose yet.

    Hey KKN8089,

Don't get me wrong but this is exactly the thing that you should be solving on your own.

Everything else you can outsource, but picking up the niche should be your own task.

You should research online because when doing that you'll have a better idea about what the market is currently offering, what the market is currently looking for and what the market is actually paying for.

You should also follow your passions because, if things don't start at the pace you want, unless you're doing something you like in a niche you have some interest about, you'll probably lose faith and give up.

    Robert,

Excellent example. Having passion for a niche is great and it will help you to stay committed to building a business during the lean start-up times.

But passion alone for a business subject is difficult to sustain if you have to put food on the table and the money isn't coming your way.

Maybe the best approach is to seek out a money niche first, then figure out a way to get passionate about one or more ideas or strategies within the niche that you can focus on, exploit and master.

For example, let's say you have a passion for writing, or maybe artwork, or photography. You don't have to try to make money by creating a business in those marketplaces themselves.

There is plenty of need for talented writers, artists and photographers in most every niche.

You just need to figure out how to get paid for doing what you love to do.

Sometimes finding your "sweet spot" or "calling" in a niche is a process of discovery. Many business owners find themselves gravitating toward personally doing the things they like to do and hiring others to do those things they don't want to do themselves.

The worst thing you can do in MMO is get attached to the niche , to me they are just a commodity to use and make money when that stops move on to the next one and so forth
niches are like summer romances after 3 months move on

The reason is that if you put to much time and investment to niche with the passion It is doomed because you keep making sure it looks good the website/blog and time is money

Look at all the websites that are for sale because they have run out of puff and passion
I do 4 niches a year and the first one always pays for next and so on , just my 2cs

As so many others have said, you can make money from just about everything. It's easier to go after the big ones: health, wealth, and relationships. What you have to figure out is what is your unique piece of that niche. For example, Dating advice for women over 50? Whatever it is, you need to love it, or you'll quickly get bored.

The other thing is consider the earnings potential. If you want to do affiliate marketing for information products, take the time to look at a lot of products in your niche. Are there a lot (at least 10) products in that niche that sell well? And for what price? If they are all $19 products, and you get a 50% commission, think about how many sales you'll need to make to earn even $1000 a month. At $19 each, you'll have to work really hard to make a decent return.

Not true. My first really successful niche online was something I didn't know about had no desire to be involved in (as a consumer) and thought the people who used it were kinda stupid.

But I was on a vendor's list and they released a product and sent out a PDF describing the niche and the potential profits for affiliates. My independent research confirmed what they said was true.

So I educated myself and made a bundle.

A lot of people here don't even know what a niche is!

Make money online, health, dating, weight loss, bitcoin are not niches. This are the opposite of what a niche is. This are huge markets!

A niche is a small but specific and well defined segment of a big market.

Some examples of what a niche is:

    -Single dads in Northern California.
    -Car accident victims in Phoenix.
    -Coal miners with mesothelioma.
-New and expecting mothers in the suburbs.
    -Military/police programs candidates.
-Triathletes attempting to qualify for Ironman events.
    -Runners recovering from panthers fasciitis.
-Stroke victims who have lost mobility and motor skills.
    -First-responders with work-related back injuries.
    -Retirees who need ADA-compliant renovations.
    -House flippers in Central Ohio.
-People who live in neighborhoods over 30 years old.
-Parents of kids with an upcoming Bar/Bat Mitzvah.
-Retail employers with more than 10 employees at/around the mall.
    -Working moms with school-age children.
    -Victims of identity theft.
-Parents of teenagers getting their first cell phone.
    -Baby boomers learning computer skills.

Find yours and use Google Keyword Planner to find out if it's viable... It's not really rocket science.
