How you can increase your opt-in confirmations by 30%!!

Hey Warrior and Warriettes! (cheeky giggle).

This issue have been covered to some extent in this forum before... But I don't believe there has been any real specific examples of it in action, and really wanted to share my experience, that will hopefully greatly benefit you warriors in the long-run

Once someone has opted into my free gift... I only displayed only a short message telling the potential subscriber to confirm their subscription - with approx only 60% actually verifying!

I therefore pondered to myself, I must be able to improve on this... So I tried a very interesting combination and it seems to have done the trick!

Simply pick out the standard audio that comes with the default aweber confirmation form, and integrate it with your own instructions (this audio plays automatically, without the user needing to click the "play" button).

This should have much more of an impact on the user, rather than them having to read a bunch of text about how then can confirm. (Likelyhood is they have probably seen the same boring instructions 20 times before that day!).

I subscribed to my own opt in page from using my gmail email account, and took step by step print screens of how they can confirm. I make sure that my name is within the subject line of the confirmation email.

See below

My screenshot of the email they need to click:
(notice how I customise my opt-in subject line, and include my name)

My screenshot of what they need to click within the email

Here is a direct link to my confirmation page incase you need some inspiration: thank you for subscribing

I really hope this helps you increase your opt in confirmations, different techniques may work for different people - but i'm just showing you what worked for little old me!

    Hey Simon,

Thanks bud. Even though it seems self-explanatory, I completely
agree that people need to be hand-guided and reminded again
and again to go through the whole process of confirming their
subscription HOWEVER easy it may be.

So images like yours may certainly help.

No problem buddy, yes although it is a simple process - I believe that many business owners do overlook things like this, spending just 30 minutes on this could produce many more opt-ins in the long run.

By the way - if anyone has any other tips/techniques feel free to share. I'm pretty sure my method is not the be all and end all

Hey Mikey... yep that's the original audio. It comes within the standard aweber confirmation page, simply download the page to your hard drive and copy the code to your customised page. Very nice trick in my opinion

Not trying to open a can of worms here .....

While people are trying to get people to click on their conformation link, I am converting the new opt in into a paying customer .

I do this with the use of single opt ins and a redirect to a sales page .

The opt in bait is delivered to their inbox .

I understand that some people have a fear of single opt in, while others do not realize that even Awebber allows single opts.

Building a list is the mainstay of my business but the focus is making money .

Conformation emails often go unopened or directly to the spam folder . The single opt redirect goes to the sales page every time .

I average $60 a day from this alone . Now that is not going to make me rich but it buys the Little Debbies .

Not everyone with Aweber accounts are allowed to use single opt in.

I could be wrong but I don't see why my account would be that much different .

They just don't make it real obvious .

Aweber is no where near the only game in town either . My favorite ar is not one a lot of people knows of .

It delivers great , tracks my links and doesn't tell me how to run my business.

I like aweber but it is really no better than the others I use .

          Yeah there are different accounts.

When I got my account I started with a single opt in list. Then decided I wanted to try a double opt in list so I started a new list. When I started it with double opt in all my lists switched to double opt in and the single opt in option was taken away.

My understanding was that if I started a list with double opt in I couldn't change it back to single opt in.

I didn't think it meant all my lists in my account would be governed by that one switch or I would never have tried the double opt in feature.

Now I'm looking at a service that would offer me both.

Wow that is wild . I have both simply because I didn't realize I could do single with aweber to begin with .

Anyone that wants to know more about single opt in may pm me .

The op of this post was sharing a legitimate idea for double opt in and I feel that I unintentionally hijacked his post . I apologize to the original op and will not continue on this thread

Each to their own I guess, I wouldn't want people on my list who can't even be bothered to confirm their subscription, really cannot see them purchasing in the future. I also have an OTO but it displayed once they have confirmed their subscription.

Also it doesnt make sense paying more to aweber for having poor quality leads in the database.

I average $60 a day from my OTO , another $300 a day from my list alone . This is because I only do business through a list .

I drive traffic to a giveaway and that is it .

I make money everyday from my affiliates also. You know where they came from? My list .

Oh yeah I almost forgot the back end cont. This is also offered by my ar.

I understand you not wanting to pay for poor quality leads . I just don't see where you would think double opt would make a lead more qualified .

If list building is being handled correctly , members are always being moved onto a buyers list . Those that don't buy are screened out of my system at a predetermined time frame .

I respect your right to run your business in the best way you see fit to run it. It is your business and you need to run it in a way that makes you happy at the end of the day .

I just do not want those new on here thinking that there is not options out there besides having to wait for someone to click on a conformation link before the money process can begin.

since were on this subject how effective is an ebay classified in building up your email list? I am thinking about placing a free ad with them and giving away a free ebook for opting in. Any suggestions?
