Directing to sales page versus direct buy

by Bai_Mike 7 replies
This is for some products that I am selling through clickbank and does anyone know if sending the customer directly to the order page to make payment is better than sending to the sales page?

Doing a review style website plus some articles within my website to attract desperate buyers. Is it appropriate to send my customers directly to the payment page of clickbank? Would there be a better sales % if I sent them to the sales page first?

dont' go for direct buy ... cause most of the time people just want to make up there mind ... and if you hit them persistantly then you'll get more conversion, statistically speaking , direct buy doesn't give more conversion

If the sales page is a good converter (the vendor can tell you) then why re-invent the wheel? Your job is then to warm up the prospect by pre-selling. Give different information than the sales page (maybe a glowingly positive review based on your own experience of the product) then send them to the sales page and let it do its job.

      But...

...if the sale page is a poor converter then write a better one yourself and send them direct to the order link.

Or promote a different product that has a better (and known) conversion rate.

      Cheers,

Use a sales page! The two step system has always prove to be more profitable. Your convesions will be much higher, remember the more you tell the more you sell.

This is just from memory, which can be foggy at times
In one of my books by joe vitale, he talks about an interent launch he did. During this launch, a ton of people on his list said they wanted to buy immediately, before he had a sales letter up. So he emailed them the equiv of an 'early-bird buy now' link.. result: little or no sales.. a few days later he gets his sales letter finished and up, and in comes a TON of sales.

I'm struggling with this question myself in my own promotions.

I don't know as much about website design and my time is limited. So, for me it's just so much easier to link directly to the offer. And, I've had some success though I admit most of them were for lead-based programs. I'm still experimenting to see the best methods for getting actual sales.

But anyway, I think if you are successful with direct sales, you're going to have to target markets that want to buy immediately. People that are unsure or are just surfing will need to get an incentive or read the pre-sell.

If your promoting a high gravity product then the vendor will already have a proven converting sales page even if you may not agree with that.

Don't go against the grain on this, link to the vendors sales page for proven conversions.
