Are there holidays in the US and Europe at the moment?

Australia have just had a long weekend - just wondering if there are also holidays in the US and Europe at the moment?

Things seem to be a touch quiet!

cheers

Oh okay, no worries - thanks for the replies!

Support tickets and forum posts (on my forum) are down, so that certainly frees extra time up for me

    cheers

This coming Monday is the observation of Columbus Day in the USA, which means the postal service will not run and the banks are closed.

It's cold & flu season, if that makes a difference...

The only reason I bring that up is because my productivity drops when I am not feeling well (like today)

Just finishing up the two week celebration of Brewfest in World of Warcraft, though. That's probably why you've seen a slow down.

      Ah! That'll explain it!

By the way, is WoW Brewfest basically when everyone gets drunk and plays World of Warcraft?

And isn't that pretty much the normal, all year round?

That's basically the in game equivalent to Oktoberfest. And it does involve a fair amount of virtual drunkenness.

(One event involves downing a pint and throwing the empty tankard at invading dwarves who are intent on stealing beer from the main festival area. After several pints, your screen gets pretty blurry from drinking so much. )

Not too many people know about this, but this week is actually customer service week. I actually had a sale from an insurance company that bought 350 of my stress reduction booklets to give out to employees and customers this week as gifts. It is a good time to thank you customers/clients and also anyone that works for you.

Wow Bev, 17 public holidays a year? Now THAT is the way to go....unless of course you're like me, and you never really take public holidays off anyway.

That's the problem with public holidays - the rest of the world doesn't know you're on one, so they expect you to be in the office anyway

Haha, yeah Floyd it seems I've coded myself out of a job!

    Maybe I'll take up knitting?

Sam, it depends on when the holiday is. But many people in HK work a Saturday, they had Thurs and Sat as a public holiday, Sun and Mon as weekend, take Friday as part of your 20 day annual leave, and you have a nice long holiday.

Friends took 9 days holiday, and only had to use 4 of their leave days.

Did I miss an upgrade to DLG?

    Hi guys

i live in portugal and it was a bank holiday yesterday and then we have a few more in the build up to xmas which will be great.

Dont laugh though we didnt know it was a bank holiday and took our son down to school to find out it was closed (weve only lived here a year).

The portuguse are very obsessive with their holidays though and dont do anything even the papershop will be closed its worse than england on xmas day.

    kind regards
