How to get more users to my new Forum?

Should I pay few people to make a few quality posts every so often or is there a free way to get the discussions going??

Why not start your own discussion?

To get people to register and post, you need real eyeballs coming to your new forum.

You should use paid and free advertising. There are 100's of them out there.

    Good luck.

  • It's a catch 22 with forums. But you have to promote it the same way you promote anything else. Start discussions about topics that people want to know about. You can find tons of ideas on Reddit and Quora. Offer an incentive for signing up to your forum, and use email marketing to get people back to your forum. Make your discussions interesting, and remember when members post on your forum, all they're really doing is creating free content for your website.

I have run more than my share of Forums in my day... you want to create blocks of content on a specific topic. If you look at my ebay thread ( https://www.warriorforum.com/warrior...days-ebay.html ) you could use this as a guide of sorts. Obviously you dont need to post this amount of content.. but a thread that starts with the basic concept, and then more detailed posts.

I dont know what topics your forum covers... but this could be done with just about any topic.

the over all concept here is it will start to build traffic from search engines

WHO> WHO do you want to have a discussion with? Answer that question first.

Then, where are they, right now? What are they doing? How do you already interact with them?

One of the FASTEST ways is to ask INFLUENCERS for their opinions on whatever you are discussing, and get permission to quote them.

If you start with who you want in the forum, it goes a long way to getting what you want. Our forum has been running for 23 continuous years now, mainly because we focused on who we wanted (and didn't want) to have a discussion with. Good luck.

Well, I find this to be very bad advice and here's why:

Because he posted here, in an Internet Marketing based forum, I assume he wants to use the forum as a revenue stream, or at least lead generator.

Chit chat is going to bring you talkers, and if that is what you want, to POLARIZE your audience (and this does work sometimes), then by all means allow politics, religion and what not.

IF however, the INTENT of a forum is to be another part of your business, or marketing then those are the big headaches/low (NO) dollars guys. Stay away from them, unless you have some specifics to sell to them.

A few years back, MAGA hats sold as did pink pussycat hats. So, there is that.

But for longevity, and continuous stream of profits from a forum, be very selective about who you want to have there.

So, what is the INTENT of the forum, might be a better starting point?

Promote it through social media, online communities, and relevant websites to increase visibility.
Create engaging content, encourage discussions, and offer incentives to encourage user participation and word-of-mouth promotion.

first of all start making posts yourself. then participate in similar forums.
once the forum gets some content and active users you can start contests or ppc campaigns.

To attract more users to your new forum, consider implementing the following strategies:

Engaging content: Create high-quality and compelling content that is relevant to your forum's niche. Offer valuable information, insights, and discussions that users will find useful and interesting. This will encourage existing users to participate and attract new users to join the conversations.
