Using My iPhone for IM?

Hi Warriors!

I haven't been on here in a while, but I just got my first iPhone and am wondering...

How do you use your iPhone for IM? Or what are your suggestions for using your iPhone for IM?

I've actually been wanting a Blackberry for the longest time and I'm not particularly thrilled about the touch screen. I prefer a keypad. But I finally chose the iPhone because I think it best represents Web sites as they're displayed on a computer. I'm brand new to the iPhone and know virtually NOTHING about them, so I'm definitely learning and would appreciate any tips.

Mostly what I like about it is that I can access my personal e-mail and sites like Facebook during the day now. (My employer blocks sites like Facebook and my personal e-mail and it drives me CRAZY! So glad I can access it now 24/7, even when I don't have a computer.)

I've been away from IM for a while now and it feels like I've been gone for AGES. I'm newly engaged to be married (thought THAT would never happen and it still seems surreal) so I've been pretty distracted from IM lately. (Ahem...)

And my house is being remodeled and I haven't been able to access the Internet because the men doing the reconstruction moved all of the furniture out (including my desk and desktop computer) and messed up the phone jacks so i couldn't access the Internet service I've been paying for! I'm still living in a construction zone, but I FINALLY got them to wire the jacks correctly so I could at least plug in my DSL modem and wireless router so I can access the Internet from my laptop. Not ideal, but at least I'm connected again now.

But I've been in serious IM/Internet withdrawal...

Any tips about IM with an iPhone are greatly appreciated! Please forgive me if this has been addressed --and beat to death!

Thanks,
Michelle

    Someone? Anyone? No one?

Also, I need to get my Web site e-mail to go to my iPhone. I'm sure the tremendous volume of spam I get will drive me crazy, but at least I can reply to it and access my e-mail from my phone.

Can anyone tell me how to do this?

    Thanks,
    Michelle

Getting your web email is easy to do. Just go to the settings tAb and Click on the email icon. Follow the onscreen instructions and you are good to go. I love the iPhone. It gives me a chance to post comments on forums like this one all day. I am actually writing this on my phone now.

Do ebooks (PDFs) look the same on your iphone as they do on your PC?

Get the analytics app, get the adsense app if you use adsense, set up all your email/support accounts on your phone, get tweetdeck if you do any type of twitter stuff, etc... here are the apps I use:

        *Analytics app
        *Quicksense app (adsense)
        *Paypal
        *eBay
        *Tweetdeck
        *Facebook
        *MySpace

Also if you have high traffic sites you might want to make a page full of book marks going to your sites so you can check them quickly if you ever think they'll go down or have problems...

Does it look the same or is it rendered in some way?

It's good for on-the-go internet access but at work you should use a proxy, that's why there are so many of them nowadays

How about developing a application for the iphone. Just the other day I saw an game called kinetic balls.

It was a very simple game that probably wouldn't take long for a skilled programmer to do. It was the top free download for that week and had 58,000 comments.

Imagine how many downloads it actually had.

Imagine making a similar simple game that contains ad's.

Imagine how much you could charge for those ads, or post your own ad's with cpa offers....

iPhone marketing is the next big step I'm going to take!

Ok, this is interesting. I'm on the WF on my iPhone for the first time right now. It's a little awkward, but for instant, on-the-go access, I don't think it can be beat. It's GREAT for an Internet/IM addict like me.

Can't type too much though. It's awkard and slow. At least for me, when my fingers usually FLY over the keyboard.

Oh well... Guess you can't quite have it all. :-)
