Advice on how to use the links provided by Amazon?

Hi,
I just realized that there is something wrong with the links I pasted from Amazon into my site. I took only the http:// stuff. I bought a book through one of the links and I didn't get the commission.

Do I actually have to paste the entire html code provided?

    You don't get paid when you buy stuff using your own links. You might want to try reading their rules.
