Any recommendations on a web design and hosting company?

Hello...

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good, reliable and affordable web designer and web hosting company. I don't have much experience in HTML and don't need a super fancy flash website.

It would also be good if that web designer has previous experience working with online marketers and understands their needs. Thanks.

I'm a wordpress designer, but for hosting, I recommend HostMonster or FatCow. Both of those providers have completely unlimited plans for around $5.95/month (billed annually) that allow for unlimited domains, storage, and bandwidth. This is helpful for marketers in the sense that they can run multiple sites from one place.

I can't reply to PM's but if you want to send me your email address, we can talk more about your design needs and if I can't help I can potentially send you in another direction to help you out.

Here's a tip. Get the hosting yourself at hostgator or hostmonster. They are both good. Then register the domain yourself. Do not let the designer do this for you. They can recommend a domain, but you register it yourself.

Then get the designer. There's Elance.com, guru.com, scriptlance.com ... and even Warriors for Hire here at the WF to find a designer.

I have heard too many nightmare stories of designers holding hosting and domain names hostage if the relationship turns bad.

This is what you can do and I highly recommend this. I'm onto HostMonster as well and I've been loyal to their service until now.

Hosting : Hostgator But I highly recommend Reliable Unlimited Domain cPanel Web Hosting | D9 Hosting because its run by Internet Marketers and I personally host with them and absolute love the support they provide. Most of all they understand our problems and go out of their way to solve them.

Designer: Warriors for hire or free-lance websites.

I personally do designs offline and online so might able to help with what you need but then you can check out sites like elance, odesk or scriptlance.

    Thanks

    • Go with hostgator for the hosting and then play around with wordpress. You may find out that you don't need a designer.

As a designer, I agree with what was said about not letting your designer register the domain. I have never done it and don't see why someone would want a designer to do it for them.

We can provide both hosting and design services, custom wordpress templates etc etc.
Hostgator is also a good choice for web hosting for marketers and affiliates.

      David (I think),

Please DO followup and let us know how it went. We all would gain from your experience.

Also, I would join the chorus of getting the domain name yourself.

      Good luck.

Hostgator and hostmonster are great but please Google 1&1 Scam before having anything to do with that company.

I'm going with most of them here - get hostgator for your hosting. Get your own domain and try getting a designer from Elance or oDesk. You should find a lot there but make sure to check them out pretty well and find a good deal.
