Write more articles and more sales you'll generate ?

Quantity and quality are both important but so are a number of other things:

The niche that you are in- is it competitive
The keyword phrases that you are using
Whether it is a niche in which people spend money.

No, he's saying that more overrides less. Writing more articles doesn't imply writing worse articles. That's like saying when your boss asks you to work overtime, he's asking you to work slower.

quality will always reap more advantage than quantity.one good written article can generate more sales than 10 bad written ones.

Honestly,
You can get away with going with quantity over quality if you're writing a crazy amount of articles but the bottom line is that writing Quality Articles is always going to make you more sales.

A quality article title will get you more sales. Iv found an average article with a well written title will far out perform a good article with a mediocre title.

Writing more articles does not means you should do a crappy job. All you have to do is spend more time and do more work.

For example, if it takes you 30 minutes to write an article then you should spend 4 hours and write 8 articles instead of just spending 30 minutes to write 1.

Of course it's depend on how you persuade the readers.
But more articles mean you have higher chance get readers.
You also get more chance to get visitors.

Quality is subjective. I don't understand why so many people keep talking about "quality" when you can't describe it.

How can someone learn to write a "quality" article when each person's idea or definition is so different?

In business, you need to be concerned about the results you get from the investment made. If your results, or "return" is greater than your investment then you have made a profit.

I have used this analogy before but here it goes again...

If Herta Muller, the Nobel Prize winner in Literature wrote an article on literature and submitted it to Manny’s Article Emporium and I submitted my article on the same subject to EzineArticles which article would get a better ranking?

Mine would.

Obviously, when it comes to quality writing Herta’s would be the highest. And between the two of us she would also be the definitive authority on the subject of Literature.

But, if Herta and I both wrote our articles on Literature and both of us submitted them to EzineArticles and got the same number of views, again Herta's article would be of a higher quality but would her article convert better than mine?

It would come down to which of us had a better understanding of what the reader was looking for when they reached the resource box.

If I knew that most of the people that searched for articles on Literature were actually looking for gifts to give to their girlfriends and Herta didn't know as much about the "market" as I did, then I would have higher conversions.

Again, I would have better results. A better return on my investment.

Throughout this exercise Herta would have always written the article with the highest quality on the subject of Literature.

But I could have much better results and make a lot more money from my article.

Not at all.

What I am suggesting is that in a marketing forum where people are asking questions with the hope of getting answers that they can use, telling people to write "quality articles" is pretty much useless if the person giving the advice can't give their definition or at least an example.

They (the folks that keep giving the advice to write quality and not crap) never even give an example, let alone an attempt to define what they view as "quality".

That's like someone in a cooking forum telling a newbie that they need more flavor. What is enough? What is too much?

Here, if someone were to ask me what kind of article they should write, I would ask them what results they were trying to get.

If they just wanted some backlinks from a thousand directories then they don't have to do any more than just get past the directory criteria or submission guidelines. Why spend two days writing something just for a backlink?

If they want their readers to trust them, then I would suggest that they write an article that demonstrated how well they knew the subject.

If they wanted to win a Nobel Prize, I would suggest that they learn to write like Herta.

In other words, what do you want to accomplish with your article?

If a newbie asks me how to do it I would ask them what they wanted to accomplish and tell them how to get the best results.

Not the typical cop out "Write quality articles". What does that mean?

If you can't explain what you mean by that statement then it is useless.

You write content in a way you think is expected within the market then you keep making adjustments and testing until you get the desired results.

When your business relies on making a greater return on your investment, why waste time trying impress people that don't need to be impressed?

If you are wanting to write fantastic blog posts that the other authority sites will view as having "quality" by their definitions, then learn to write like them.

Again, would you need to write like Herta to impress other blog owners?
Not unless those other blog owners were Nobel Prize winners.

My point is simple.

Quit telling people to do something that you can't describe, define, demonstrate, illustrate, or at the very least give an example.

Back to your question about the "moratorium" on subjective debates, debating is different than giving advice.

Debates are fine as long as the person asking for advice knows that the 30 friggin' posts that follow are "ideas", "theories", or what you might "think".

But if someone asks me how to get backlinks I don't waste their time telling them to "write a quality article".

Everyone has an opinion. Everyone has ideas. Everyone here has thoughts on a subject.

Fine. Have a debate. But when someone asks a question to help them be more successful, (especially in a marketing forum), then try to give advice based on facts, or give examples.

Not the cop out "write quality articles".

I've yet to see anyone give an example and when I gave one (Herta), it turns out you agree that we don't have to write like her to get results if we are not trying to win a Nobel Prize.

Exactly. But you can't deny that she is the perfect example of a "quality article".

So, now the answer is that we don't have to write an article of that magnitude right?

So what does "write a quality article" mean?

More than "crap" and less than Herta's.

That should clear it up for everybody.

I agree with Caliban and Mohammad. You could make more money with more quantity and effort but of course, without the quality itself, you're just wasting energy without yielding results. Thus, if you combine them, you'll easily get used to it plus you'll never feel income is already knocking while you continue doing it.

The bottom line, as I see it from all the comments, is that the more articles of quality, the better. Do not bother with quantity if the articles to be published are poor and lacking quality content.

Bruteforce approach of writing and publishing articles never works. Multiple niche and lots of interlinked articles in same niche will definitely help.

I think it's important to first have a business plan in place that you believe in and are proud to market to others. Once this happens, you will see that article marketing is simply a tool to express to others the importance of why a person should purchase from or through you.

And when you do actually create that first article, you will be proud to put your name on it, and you will want to submit it to as many directories as possible because you'll recognize how this will allow you to get more exposure to that article.

And because you are proud of what you have created, you will go to various web 2.0 sites and will share the article with people who frequent those sites.

You may then choose to turn that article into a video or a pdf file or a blog post and share it that way.

Once you see the potential that one article has, you will then want to create many many more...

I don't think that you have to ignore quality. It is the quality that can generate you more sales. If you can write several articles of high quality then why not? ... An article that should be written is something that should help your business and not by making your readers don't trust you. Articles reflects your personality. Good written articles can make your readers trust you more.

However, i will not hesitate to include that it is not just writing
quality articles but where you post the articles matter a lot.

Do your own research and take appropriate actions.

So what you guys are trying to say is more quantity with quality right? Okay this will take massive efforts as for me it is fine because I used to write 10 articles per day, then exhausted, and procrastinate for a few months. Any way thank for making thing clear. I should get back on my track continue writing more quality articles.

It can be tough to keep up the quality of your articles high while trying to write massive numbers, in my opinion. Trying to juggle keyword density, article length, creating interest while providing value to the reader can be tough to maintain while trying to churn out even ten articles a day for me.

I have found that if I write for several different niches I can usually bang out a few articles a day. Writing in one niche every day, day in and day out can be draining. I have gone back and read some of my stuff that I wrote when I was trying to do that and it sucked... embarassing, I must admit!

So maybe writing two bangin' articles a day in 5 different niches might be a way to keep from burning out too bad. And don't beat yourself up too bad or stress yourself out about pushing yourself to create. Life is really about more than internet marketing. I have started taking Wednesday nights off... no computer, no writing, not checking stats and no Warrior Forum!

BTW... quality is not really all that subjective. A quality article is no more subjective than beauty or wealth. Is 25K a year rich? Maybe to someone who makes 19K a year but not to the majority of Americans. Chevy Nova or Porsche 911?

No, not necessarily. I have had some articles bring in about 100 visitors and that is it but others articles go and fetch 40,000 + visitors. It is all about KW research, backlinks, etc... As for sales, that depends on traffic + enticing/interesting article + lead into resource box + effective resource box + sales page.
