Mindmapping to keep organized [free software]

I guess everyone on WF could benefit from being more productive - unless you are already a lean mean IM machine!

Something I have found pretty useful to keep myself organized and working towards my most important goals is using a mindmap. I use this free software:
FreeMind | Download FreeMind software for free at SourceForge.net

I load it up and can quickly see an overview of everything I've got going on, with the most important tasks highlighted. Found it much better than an endlessly growing and unorganized to-do list.

    Chris,
freemind rocks as do other OpenSource products like Open Office. You can find a ton of other resources in this All in one Thread:

I'd suggest taking a few moments and looking over the stickies at the top of the main forum - there's a wealth of great information there to help your business along - as well as help on using the various features of this forum (searching comes in handy) and also how the community interrelates with each other.

    Welcome and best wishes,

I would love to learn to utilize this to try and help get me back on track...

Do you have any filled out examples of how to fill one out.

Not with anything pertinent to your business of course just some made up ideas.

Well think of your main project. Then split it up into sections that need doing like:
      Design
      Marketing
      Outsourcing

Then split each of those off into sub sections like:
Design: Logos, Website Theme, Squeeze Page design etc.

Then it gives you a visual overview of everything you need to be working on, and help you see the bigger picture and prioritize.

Generally great for planning, generating ideas, and putting your ideas in the big picture.
