Similar keywords...should they go on 1 site?

I am confused on one thing when it comes to making pages/posts within 1 site on different keywords.

I am finding keywords that mean the same thing that get decent search volume each. So if I have the domain relating to these keywords, should they each get there own page on 1 domain even though they mean the same thing, just another way of saying it that people search on.

Lets say they all get decent searches, and I want to capitolize on all of those terms would they each get a page or should they get there own sites??

Then if they can go on the same site, each page is talking about the same thing. As I understand it to rank for a keyword they should all have there own page...is that correct? Because if not I can easily put those words on 1 page.

Most of my sites are adsense but I am now branching off into amazon and other product affiliate sites.

Any suggestions on this...I run into this alot and not sure what to do.

This topic is getting pretty interesting lately with the likelihood of google keyword throttling. There is some reason to believe you can max out on your keyword traffic, so making other sites can have benefits, but that also could have its pitfalls.

It's a coin with 2 heads really I think. If you want to build a "authority website by all means add pages for you other keywords and get them ranked however if you are just going to put up mini sites maybe it''d best to do one for each KW
