Maintaining sales in a recession - from someone who should know!

This lunch time I was watching a TV program called Working Lunch on BBC2.

They had Fred DeLuca on there - he's the founder and CEO of the Subway sandwich empire. They're currently opening 1,000 new franchised stores per year and have more stores than MadDonalds, according to Fred.

Anyway, one of the questions they asked him was how Subway planned to weather the recession. How did he plan to keep sales up during the downturn?

His answer?

Simply provide great value.

People are still spending money. But they're spending it wisely. So offer great value and people will spend that money with you.

So simple, yet so true I thought.

Cheers,

Neil
