if you want more flexibility check out www.vibralogix.com there product called LinkLok is pretty good .. I use it all the time + its a once off with no monthly fees...

It does not have the affiiliate modules that e-junkie has so check out the features and see if it will work for you

    e-junkie = $5 * 12 = $60 p/a
    Linklok Paypal only $29.95

so its 1/2 the price for the first year and free thereafter as you buy it out right ...

You can try e-junkie. It is the safest way of providing download links.

Dlguard is great, but I personally face with a lot of problems. That costs me some money and angry "ex" customers! Too bad...

Two more options if you do not want to use a 3rd party like e-junkie:
PayPal IPN Secure Download Link Protection Digital Delivery Script
    Paypal Download Manager
    (neither are affiliate links)

The nice part about DLGuard however is that it integrates with your Autoresponder during the purchase flow so you can collect your customer's e-mail address back to your autoresponder. Not sure any of the others do this. To me that is vital.

When you scoff at spending $150 to get a PROPER secure download solution, you may not be thinking about the real value of building a business here. Is this a hobby or a business? Just sayin'

(DLG has way more features than you *think* you'll use today, but that will change as your business grows)

Ok so let me qualify my advice I am a PHP developer so my opinion would be biased. Then again according to your advice you paying for a script and then still need to run it as the owner ...

Maybe under those circumstances outsourcing these to someone like e-junkie might be the least headachey option

sorry im always biased toward doing it myself and investing in other areas ...

PHP script can be used to expire link by IP, number of downloads e.t.c if you don't want to use paid product.
