Can you easily convert from Wordpress.com to Wordpress.org?

I am a fan of Blogger, but I am willing to try WP. I guess. LOL

If I try the free version (.com), can I convert it later to the paid version (.org)?

I want to play around with WP before I decide. I have never been a big fan of WP.

Sounds like you're a little confused.

The so-called "free" Wordpress allows you to set up your pages on their site free.

They also offer the option to download and install the software to run on your own server. This version is better because you can give the blog your own domain name. It is not a paid version. The download is free. Your cost is your hosting fees. So you'll need to buy a domain to put it on.

You cannot switch the content between their site and your own domain. You have to re-enter everything once the software is installed on your own site.

Shay, everyone hates 'change' but I tell ya, this will be the best 'change' you will ever make.

Your own hosted WP blog on your own domain/hosting account is the way to go. Hands down.

No problem Shay, if you need any help whatsoever with setting up WP, or learning the admin, just send me a PM. I would be glad to help you out.

If you just want to "test" WP first, you could install it in a sub-folder of a domain you already own and test it out (YourCurrentDomain.com/Blog).

Regarding your question, I do not have much experience with the free version of Wordpress. But maybe you can export posts from there, and then import to your self hosted wordpress blog.

And yeah, self hosted wordpress is the way to go.

    Best of luck!
