Can you recommend a good eBook/product that you used to help you get started in IM?

Hi everyone!

I've just started a website that has some basic articles on internet marketing for people that are either new to IM, or don't fully understand some of the concepts. (The site isn't quite finished yet)

What I am looking for is either a product or an eBook that you used when you were new to internet marketing, that helped you the most. This is so I can put it on my website, for some of the less experienced people to read and benefit from.

Please tell me why it was so helpful and where you can get it from. It doesn't matter if it costs or it is free but obviously free items will be more appealing to the readers.

    Why don't you write one yourself? You could write an ebook about how to get started in IM and what needs to be done and what has worked for you. Then you could give it away for free and build a list.

    I recommend Terry Dean's e-book on the Internet Lifestyle Manifesto. It is his overview of how to build a real business online. Great e-book that covers a lot of material and gives you a real plan to follow.

    I don't think there's anything better than The Amazing Formula That Sells Products Like Crazy and Gimme My Money Now, both by Marlon Sanders.

    The Amazing Formula gives you a ton of great info and Gimme My Money is an action plan for what you learned.

    Why don't you try THE CHALLENGE (formerly "The 30 Day Challenge)
    It's a course that goes through the basics of internet marketing.
    It's a great place to get started
    And it should be starting soon.
    But in the meantime you can view the course from last year.
    And it's free!

    5-6 years ago, I was new to internet marketing. majority of techniques and methods I learnt though the eBooks of that era, are invalid today.

    Welcome to the WF, James!

    From my perspective, this business is too complex for any one book to adequately cover the basics and the options available. Nevertheless, I think many of us can point to one that make all the difference between sitting there like Walter Mitty dreaming about it and actually getting started. For me, that was Dr. Mani's Think, Write, and RETIRE, (A Christmas present last year from a friend who obviously knows me pretty well. )

    Whatever the title, whoever the writer, it's going to ignite the essential "fire in the belly" that's going to be a constant inspiration and motivation for you through all the rough spots we've all encountered sooner or later.

    Just keep reading until you find the one that works for you!

    Reports and eBooks by Allen Says got me started.

    They were so helpful because the man just makes sense and speakes in a 1,2,3, do this try that voice. Easy to follow easy to do.

    You can see enough of his writings in the War Room to get all the help you need.

    I'll say this: What worked many years ago, does not anymore often, especially if it is a specific strategy. Of course, the fundamentals such as backlinks, on-site seo, and others, are still the same, though google is evolving, especially with the recent update.

    My recommendation is this:
    1. Read through this forum, adn the other seo sub-forum, they can provide a wealth of information for you.

    2. Buy some very good WSOS. Only the ones that have really high reviews and that people have made money with them that you can trust. So be careful with this. Though, this forum is a huge resource.

    After the initial info, you'll have to come up with your own unique ideas and tricks often, as many successful people are reluctant to share theirs.
