Adding content to home page

Dear Warriors,

How do you expand the content of your website? Where do you put it?
I have decided that I will be pasting it below my main post on the home page.

Is this a good idea?

it's not a bad idea but it's better if you have a blog section or area were you keep updating your contents and articles.

OK...this is something I considered as well, but how will a blog on subdomain be influencing my website's ranking?
This is what I am trying to understand, but not many people have been helpful with this so far.

Creating a blog section would be the most suitable.

We need content on homepage sometimes

Why? Because the homepage should ranking well in keyword its should be. But this is not mean you need to write a five hundreds article their. Just some text content that go with the title/tag/description.

My home page is not promoting any product, only my posts within my home page...Should I be adding the content to the home page or just create it and leave it?

It is acutally more beneficial to have the blog on a subpage - domain.com/blog rather than have it on the subdomain blogs.domain.com. Subdomain has an authority on its own so it is more or less like hiting a restart button. However, over a longer period of time, the subdomain will grow an authority which it will still spread to the main domain and is more likely to be much powerful combination. Although, I would still look for possibilities to have it in subfolder, it looks more natural to me like this.

      Hi Seobirk,

This sort of a reply I was actually looking for... I do not really get why people are not participating in this post :-) I think that the content is one of the most important things for web promotion these days.... I would really like to see more replies here and find out if others are also agreeing with you SEOBirk..thanks again for your contribution.
