Are you seriously making 5 figures per month?

google changes the seo game frequently. There are more ways to get traffic than just google.

I'm not making 5 figures, but since I only work about 3 hours a day and I actually took about 5 years off after my son was born (and still made money) I'm happy with my 4 figures.

5 figures is like having a real job, 6 figures is like having a real job that pays very well. I am more interested in who is making 7 and 8 figures around here. A friend of mine knows someone who makes 8 figures but he started way back when the internet was fresh.

Umm, so making 5 figures a month is a 'regular job'? What job, an attorney?

Vast majority (in the US) make less than $12 an hour. I am not
sure what Harvard or Yale grads are making, but 5 figures is DAMN good.

First hit 5 figures before you worry about 6, 7 and 8...

I totally agree with you. I'd say first start making any amount of money that you can keep doing consistently and then increase it from there.

For those who are still working for someone else, I'd say make your first target making enough to leave your job and work for yourself.

That is how I finally decided to do it after trying other things. If I do all the work to build backlinks and get targeted traffic, I don't want just one shot with a person. I want to build a relationship and share with them what I've gone through. All the niches I am in are something I've worked with and I only promote things that I have used and find helpful and valuable for the price. Even though I could spend thousands, I keep in mind the person who may have almost no money to invest when I promote anything.

List building seemed to fit me the best. Of course, to get people on the list, I blog and do article and social networking, too.

To be honest, you're not going to get
many people who want to come in here
and tell you how much they're making.

But yes, it's possible. Why wouldn't it
be?

If your site sells something for $10
and you can sell 34 of them a day,
you just made five figures in a month.

Hardly seems impossible when you think
of it like that, does it?

If you want more proof, look at the WSO
section. Look at the volume of sales some
people are doing. Pretty easy to see they're
making more than 10k a month, wouldn't
you say?

So yup, it's possible. Find a plan, stick to
it, and keep working. You'll get there.

The $ is definitely there, but the key is to focus on meeting human needs and connecting with people, not trying to keep up with the "SEO Game," People who chase trends do well for a while, then a new update comes out and they're practically back to square one.

The key to success in the IM world is no different than the age old marketing secret of creating value for people. Trends come and go, but principles are always relevant.

The OP is talking per month... are you talking per year? Five figures per month from a real job would be considered by most people to be very nice pay. Six figures per month, on the other hand, would be over a million dollars per year at the minimum, which I think is a lot more than is needed to meet the standard of a job that pays very well.

OP, while I'm not at five figures per month just yet, I can tell you with certainty that it's possible. I can see it from here, and I'm not even close to completing my journey. Certainly, many people are making that and more online.

Gotta echo the seo thing. Try not to rely on Google organic traffic too much. Don't be discouraged from trying the IM dream either. It's rough but certainly achievable, especially when you educate yourself with the info around here. Don't get huge dollar signs in your eyes at the beginning either.

The reality is, yes it's possible. But unfortunately the perception, especially for newbies, is terribly skewed.

As with any business, there's a LOT to learn, and that takes time.

There really is no "$50,000 in a week", unless of course you've been in this game for quite some time.

I absolutely agree. I do make anywhere from 4k to 7k a month and I only started 2-3 years ago as a total newbie. So I can see how you could make way more than that if you have been doing it for a while.

However, unlike many so called "gurus" and people selling products and reports claiming that they will show you an easy and quick way to get there, I believe it takes a lot of work and determination to get there. And I really mean hard work and not working for 1 hours and then lurking on forums and blogs for hours and counting it as work. I mean working 8-10 hours a day and maybe even more especially in the beginning.

So, in many ways, its a lot more hard work than working in a day job. But if you are determined and are really committed to work hard, I do believe you can get there even if you dont know anything right now about any of these things.

Believe me, when I started 2-3 years ago, I didn't even know what (SEO) stood for. I though I would build a site and them magically people would come and I make money, lol.

It's weird how your number system changes when you do start making 5 figures a month or a week. You start being bummed out when you don't hit 5 figures in a week.

Then you realize that most would kill to do that in a month and you feel a bit better. But I can tell you it sucks more doing huge numbers then seeing them drop versus never doing them in the first place.

I had months I easely made 5 figures, for the past months I am very busy with my study so I leave it a side. I am not going to explain how I make it, but these tips I can give

-never expect to make money with the click of a button
-sell something
-sell what is in demand
-if it's not needed, make it needed

nope, unfortunatly that is not gunna work.

Too many times I have seen marketers think they are gunna kill it with a product, without doing any research....very easy way to fail quickly online!!!

If you want to make 5 figures a month on the internet, you can either sell a few high priced products, or alot of $20 products. To each their own... you should also throw a yearly seminar for $997 a person. This will act as a "slack adjuster".

Making 5-figures per month is totally possible, but it's not something that happens overnight. You don't go from 0 to 60. It's something that snowballs. Also, Google is constantly tweaking its algorithm. Even thougb that sounds scary, it's not that big of a deal because Google's main focus -- to provide up-to-date, quality, relevant content to the end user based on what he or she is searching for -- is something that will never change. As long as you're putting out unique, quality content, you're cool.

It's really possible to earn this kind of amount per month, but it will take you many years to experience that. But remember, always start small first. I'm still happy even if I earn at least four figures for now.

I agree start small. Make a game plan and then that small system works duplicate it over and over and you can reach those figures. Don't rush though. patience is key and focus.

You can definitely make 5 figures per month. The amount of time it takes depends on your willingness to put in the time and effort. You will need to do a lot of reading, take a lot of action and do a lot of testing. Patience is a real virtue in this business. Once you start making your first dollar online, you'll know its real and you'll be able to make more and more. Don't worry about Google "pulling the plug." Google is just one traffic source out there and even if they disappeared, there's still plenty of money to be made online.

Forget Google!

What I mean by that is, Yes do all your on-page seo stuff, keyword research, etc. And do it well. But there are millions of ways (and loads of free ways) to drive traffic to your website without relying on Google. So if the Big G changes, so what. You change with it and drive traffic other ways besides just sitting back on your butt waiting for Google to throw you a handful of people once in a while.

As for making money on the net, YES it is possible to make "insane" amounts of money. I started the whole internet marketing biz a few years ago. It took me about 2 years to really get up and moving. Now though, with working my butt off 15 hours a day at the beginning I have started to see 5-figure DAYS. And to be honest, I still work around 9 hours per day. But I love what I do.

Learn a lot. Don't buy into the trend of the day BS. Find one thing you like and stick to it until you get good at it. Give people what they want more than what they need. Wants= $$$$$$$$$$$$, Needs= $$ (in my experience). And the most important thing.....never give up!
